The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
I know yuo ROCK, but you BOP too?
Adding my thanks to all for the updates and photos!
He sure stays busy doing good works in his happy retirement! God bless him and you all.

I took a brave step and posted the video link on the George W. Bush Presidential Center page on facebook. Will anything come of it? Who knows.
That was simply wonderful! ..... And I was either the first or second viewer! I think they should love it!
Hope you don’t mind that I just shared with my 800 friends on FB, too! :)
I’m sure that most of you have already read a version of the following article all of which snarkily bury the lead (and important information):
SO MUCH FOR THE QUIET LIFE... GEORGE W BUSH RAKES IN STAGGERING $15 MILLION ON SPEAKING CIRCUIT
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1389307/George-W-Bush-rakes-staggering-15million-speaking-circuit.html#ixzz1N7NwejHH
1.) The fact that OUR president can generate so much money on the lecture circuit indicates one thing: People like him; they really, really like him!!
2.) Decision Points has sold more than THREE MILLION COPIES — gee, I wonder why the leftist media failed to report this milestone (Clinton still hasn’t made it to 3 million after 10 years)?!
3.) The GWB Presidential Center has already raised over 300 MILLION DOLLARS — again, I wonder why the leftist media overlooked this accomplishment (Clinton didn’t get close to this number with his library fundraising)?!
LOVE the new video — gave you a big THUMBS UP at you tube!
I am glad for President Bush making all that money. The lame stream’s media jealousy disgusts me though
Hi Deb, thanks for the ping to that article. Yes, that’s a very snarky article. Don’t mean to be vulgar, but can’t resist saying a hearty “screw you” to David Gardner, the author of that piece.
Gardner contradicts himself by first whining that President Bush has said he wants to stay out of politics and the public eye, and then whining that all of GWB’s post-presidency speeches have been PRIVATE events. Let me put it in terms Gardner might understand. Like duh! If an event is PRIVATE, it is, by definition, not in the public eye. *rolls eyes*
As for the money GWB is making, good for him. Gardner needn’t worry. Obama has already made millions doing nothing, and he’ll make more when his presidency is (blessedly) over. This despite the fact that Obama is a terrible speaker, in my opinion. Still, I won’t begrudge him whatever he makes. It’s still a free country and, as the old saying goes, the business of the USA is business.
And he does spend a lot of time working on building his library and supporting our troops such as the W100 bike ride he and the 14 wounded soldiers did last month. So where was the media covering that? Oh yeah, they didn't care and weren't interested. GWB has never been out there flaunting and bragging how much money he's made. The media and lefties have nothing to point anything productive Obama has done so all they have left is to attack W again. That's all, same old playbook. *Yawn*
So glad that he is making money, selling books, and raising money!
Obama is a horrible speaker. Terrible cadence, inflection, and body language for starters. His voice has a dry, clipped sound that makes it drone. It’s as though, because he’s black and a Dem, then he must, ipso facto, be wonderful.
People critcized GWB--but he was GREAT off script. BHO is never great.
Video--Foul Ball Near President Bush
A.J. Pierzynski jokes with president
(Link to article below)
ARLINGTON, Texas -- A.J. Pierzynski can probably cross off Secret Service agent from his list of potential jobs once he retires from baseball.
The Chicago White Sox catcher was unable to grab a foul ball in the first row Monday night that nearly hit former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura.
In the sixth inning of the White Sox's game against the Texas Rangers, Pierzynski chased a foul ball off the bat of Adrian Beltre near the Rangers' on-deck circle.
The ball was just behind the screen, but Pierzynski was able to reach around it and in front of President Bush, who was going to make his own play on the ball at first but flinched at the last second.
The ball hit the ledge in front of the first row, though, and bounced into the seats.
"I just told him just because he was the president doesn't mean I won't jump on top of him," Pierzynski said. "Him and his wife got a good chuckle out of that one."
Pierzynski called it a light-hearted moment in an otherwise quick game. The Rangers won 4-0 in 2 hours and 5 minutes.
Can't get enough White Sox information? ESPNChicago.com has all the latest from the South Side. Blog "Yeah, we obviously knew he was there," Pierzynski said. "When I saw that ball go up I actually thought I might have a chance just to catch it. I was like, 'Well I can reach around.' I needed about another foot. "Then I realized I almost jumped in the former president's lap. It was funny. I had Nolan Ryan and George W. Bush sitting five feet from each other. At least I had a good landing spot if I were to go all the way over the wall."
Yeah, I saw that this morning! I love it that President and Laura Bush just laughed it off and they were like, “Eh, its cool. No big deal.” What good sports they are! (Pun intended!) They are exactly the kind of people youd want to hang around with at the ballpark or anywhere! Thanks for posting!
Video screencaps:
Thanks, you two, for all these fantastic pictures of OUR president enjoying his favorite sport...and nearly getting beaned while doing so! Glad he wasn’t hit! Yikes!
SOOOO nice to hear Bibi speak and SEE W!!! Listening to and watching MEN, once again!
I love that GWB asked the catcher if he was ok. That is SO GWB--it shows the man he is! :)
And that includes Cal Coolidge, who was silent! ;)
