Muslim Leaders Rally In Support Of Downtown Islamic Center

Leaders from 55 major mosques and Islamic organizations held a rally on the steps of City Hall today to speak out against against religious intolerance and defend the building of the Park51 Islamic cultural center in Downtown Manhattan and other mosques in America.

Before a large crowd, speakers said that there is a rising tide of intolerance against Muslims in the United States. They also said that across the country politicians are fanning the flames of controversy over the proposed Manhattan mosque on Park Place.

The demonstrators said that Islam is not a foreign religion to the United States, and has deep roots in the country's history. They also remarked on how the Bill of Rights guarantees freedom of religious expression.

"This kind of verbal assault upon Islam and Muslims is unprecedented in our history," said Imam Al-Amin Abdul Latif of Majlis Ash-Shura of New York. "This nation was founded on the values of religious freedom and tolerance and fairness and justice and pluralism. We're going backwards."

In the meantime, Americans read, practically every day, in the mainstream press no less, stories about women being stoned and mutilated, beheadings, death threats to critics (like Mme. Sarkozy), honor killings, etc. These supporters of Sharia mouthing Enlightenment principles just make themselves look like jackasses.

The more rallies like this, the more votes go to Palladino.

Let's look overseas: Hamas, which is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood has been formally designated a terrorist organization under our law for many years. According to its charter, Hamas's purpose is to create an Islamic Palestinian state by eliminating Israel through violent jihad.

The Muslim Brotherhood explained in an internal memorandum that their work in the United States was as a 'grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.' The Brotherhood said its tactic would be 'sabotage.'

The 1991 memorandum elaborates that every city should have an 'axis' and 'perimeter' from which this jihad-by-sabotage strategy is headquartered. That axis will be known as 'the Islamic Center.' Islamic centers are to become 'the 'base' for our rise, the memo says. They are to be the focal point of education, preparation, and the 'supply of our battalions.' Battalions are small cells of fighters. In Muslim Brotherhood ideology it is assumed that, at a certain mature point, when Muslim forces are strong enough, violent jihad will be effective. The Saudis have been underwriting the Brotherhood's dawa efforts for decades.

The Jewish population in NYC is equal to the Jewish population in Israel.

Heard tape of the Imam saying that 9-11 was a watershed moment because it finally made the world take notice of Islam.

For all of the talk that the 9-11 attacks were not the actions of muslims and that this mosque has nothing to do with ground zero etc. he LIES.

He also says that he will not talk of Hamas as a terrorist group because he does not make political statements but he had no hesitation in saying that the United States is guilty of “terrorism” (his word not mine) and that we have more muslim blood on our hands than Al Qaeda has of “innocent” non-muslims.
