And with a name like Aroostook, you know that Maine isn’t Mass either

Maine is Maine, but Aroostook is The County.

It’s looking bad for Lisa Murkowski.

Word. She would have to get like 65% of the remaining votes. ain't gonna happen.

“It is a shame about King County and what has happened in the state of Washington in the past.”

No doubt. We heard of evidence at the State Republican Convention from people that had done research into the 2004 Governor’s race theft that there were enough falacious votes to more than make up the Gregoire margin of ‘victory’ - it was an absolute debacle. ACORN was heavily involved in the falacious votes in KingCo. Hoping for a MUCH different outcome for Dino in his race with tennis shoes...

15,678 ballots counted today.

That’s over half.

I knew when he was elected we had a dem lite from Mass...however, it was his tea partiers [who elected him] that have been livid over his betrayal. Those are the ones who will have to be convinced in 2012.

Aroostook is not quite the same without Loring AFB.

If only Maine could unload those two extremely Democrat counties in the southwest corner maybe Maine would have a good chance at electing real conservatives.

From a Tea Party Express email dated yesterday, 8-10:
Subject: ALERT: Irregularities Arise in Alaska Vote Count - URGENT!

We've told you about efforts by backers of Liberal Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski to dispatch teams of lawyers and political hacks to influence the counting of ballots in the extremely close Alaska Senate GOP Primary, where Conservative Republican Joe Miller holds on to a narrow lead of almost 2%.

Details are now emerging of repeated violations by Sen. Murkowski's ballot observers, and are detailed in this letter from a prestigious Alaska law firm.  Please read the letter - you might have to reload the page if the document does not appear the first time you try to access it:  CLICK HERE to READ THE DETAILED LETTER.

Friends, this is getting ridiculous.  The NRSC, the Murkowski campaign and the Republican political establishment in Alaska are doing everything they can to steal Joe Miller's apparent victory away from him.  We must fight back.

We went through this with Al Franken in Minnesota when the Democrat Party pulled this stunt - we can't stand for it in Alaska with the Republican Party establishment.

Please sign the petition below and then share it with your friends.  Post the links on websites, blogs and group discussion boards.  Send to your email lists.  We're going to make a big spectacle of this if the NRSC tries to steal this election for Lisa Murkowski.  We WILL hold them accountable.  Sign the petition - HERE.

Note: You may be asked to make a donation to iPetitions after you sign the petition.  You need not do so.  This petition is completely FREE and you can choose to ignore the donation request - it is NOT a request for donations by the Tea Party Express, and your signature will count without you making a donation to iPetitions.

Latest Update:

"It's looking bad for Lisa Murkowski.

The latest count of absentees increased Miller's lead to 1,469 votes. Fairbanks probably helped Miller, although the votes were also from Southeast Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula.

The Murkowski campaign was really counting on a big boost from Southeast.

It didn't happen.

The latest batch was a count of 2,760 votes. It brings the total counted today to about 15,700 votes. Still awaiting some more Kenai absentee votes today."

What will they do? Run someone even more conservative than Scott Brown and who loses to the Democrat liberal?

They have to calculate just how much conservative they can get away with in Massachusetts. Ask for too much and we lose.

oh dear lord -

my dad is orginally from Houlton. I grew with being threatened to behave, or I’d be sent to pick potatoes in The County. still have family in Fort Fairfield.

Love Maine, but you can’t eat scenery, and the welfare mentality has largely replaced Yankee self reliance. Sad. now living in colrado where some semblance of reality persists....

I’d call LePage a real conservative, and he’s likely to win in November.

Maine is about as conservative, per gallup, as NH, and more conservative than VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ.

A likeable charismatic conservative can win in Maine.

And additionally:
http://community.adn.com/adn/node/152974

“The Division of Elections will has an additional roughly 9,000 votes to process. Some will be disqualified and more absentees could come in so the numbers aren’t firm. It’s also not clear how many are for the Republican primary race and how many are Democratic. Most will be counted on Friday with a final count of largely overseas absentees on Sept. 8.

Today was the biggest chunk of votes. Murkowski has cut Miller’s lead from 1,668 votes to 1,469 today. That’s not nearly what the Murkowski campaign had hoped for.”

Woohoo - barely made a dent from her stronger areas and with 2/3 of the votes now counted! Miller should clean up even more with the military votes to be counted later. I think LM is DONE.

Your handle takes me back. My mom was from Aroostook junction NB. I spent many summers there in the 50’s. We went over to Fort Fairfield to shop.
