Rut Roh - a troubling three page letter from the Miller campaign citing multiple potential infractions of election law and procedure by a Murkowski observer, who, after mis-identifying himself, was allowed unfettered access to a computer he should not have accessed. The access presented a clear opportunity for vote tampering.
The other problems include trying to access the ballot area with a large bag, an action prohibited by law. Fortunately, security stopped him. Read it all in pdf below.
That's completely messed up. If I was called, I'd ask for a name and for whom they work, as I would feel my confidentiality had been breached.
Ba-bye, Lisa. Say hi to your dad on the unemployment line for me.
It is unbelievable, Eska! Hopefully, this won’t work. Please keep us informed as you and the AK freepers have throughout the election.
I saw Miller on Face the Nation...He will be a great Senator. All your hard work is gonna pay off!!
More evidence that the Republican Party has been infiltrated by the socialist left.
Using their tactics in elections now, with the assistance of the RNC.
Hopefully, they have already done this and the investigation is well along its way.
Good work! Thanks for posting this. Lisa’s slim chance just got slimmer.
There may be some debate over whether or not Linux distros are "ready for prime time" as a desktop OS (I personally think distros like Ubuntu and Fedora are close enough for most users). But what Linux is really good for is making use of older hardware that can no longer keep up with the bloat introduced by service packs, patches, updated programs, and the like.
I'm typing this from an older PC that used to run Windows XP but really couldn't keep up with SP2 or SP3 -- but it runs Fedora just fine. (I only need Firefox and OpenOffice for 99% of what I do on here, anyway.)
This is just a tip ice of what will go on in November.
If OpenOffice is any indication, I'm not changing to Linux. I gave it a look and was not impressed. My kids (both in college at 16) ran it for a while and had nothing but complaints about file compatibility. I write fully annotated and heavily illustrated books. I run applications from PhotoShop to CADD. I need everything both Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite offer (and then some). There is no way I could afford to switch over with anything less than FULL compatibility. I have way too much work to lose.
And theres LOTS of free help on the hundreds of Linux forums.
Lol.

This is true for at least 80% of the desktop community.
Many improvements in Linux continue to be made, and it is a bit maddening and confusing to keep up with them all, but the Linux community is extremely helpful.
Because all the code is Open Source, kernel bugs are reported openly on the Linux Kernel Mailing List and can be fixed by anybody with the expertise and time to do so.
Bugs in other Open Source software are dealt with in the same manner.
Stuff gets fixed FAST and obtaining patched software is automatic in most modern Linux distributions.
And you seldom need to reboot to take advantage of patched software. Often, all that’s required is to restart the application or system service or unload/reload a kernel driver module. Both very trivial operations.
Someone like you, with such specialized applications, would be much better off with a Mac.
My oldest daughter at home is in college and uses OpenOffice. She is required to submit her documents in .doc or .xls format, and receives assignments in MicroSoft format.
She has reported no problems with OpenOffice.
Thank you for your most enlightening comments, Kathy in Alaksa!
88% of her money from out of state donors! Likely, from K Street and big money people. She’s an incumbent, ya know.
Well, Joe Miller will have a lot of out-of-state-donors too. Small donors, like me. The money he managed to raised fell far short of Lisa’s, but he won anyway and he’s going to win officially once the absentees are counted.
This is a comment Ak267 made last nite.
Ive read that Miller, Todd & Track Palin were at military bases, fishing communities, oil rigs and other pro-Palin places....very easy to pass out absentee voter request forms.
The above is very interesting info because most people assume the mail-in ballots will go to Murk. Sarah endorsed Miller on June 2 thats almost three months for that info to circulate in AK. What to say that most of the mail in ballots wont go Joe Miller. Sarah indicated this is a real possibility and one alot of pundits and such over look.
I thought I would repost this from last nite.
I listened to enthusiastic claims much like yours twenty years ago and made the very expensive switch to a Mac II. I waited a year for the RAM I needed. I had it for about five years and endured that little bomb more times than I care to relate. I couldn't get a good CAD system (Pegasys, what a piece of crap). As to getting boards for various machine controls and instrument interfaces, make me laugh. Not only were there few, they cost a fortune.
I was forced to make the very painful switch back to Win. I lost a lot of work that I never recovered.
About the only thing I could say positive about the Mac was file efficiency. Now that I have another fifteen years' work to lose, no way.
I called & yapped at Anch Repub office Fri morn and I’m calling Cornyn’s number today. I’ve heard about the Repub corruption for years here in Ak; just how it was until Palin took over; then it changed. Now she’s gone, back to normal I guess.
Yeah, I hear ya.
Macs are hideously overpriced, and expansion capabilities are limited or non-existent.
You are better off with Windows, then.
I would stay away from Vista, though. WXP or W7 are the way to go, and you should get the Pro or MultiMedia versions.
W7 does not provide an email client, except through their spyware infested web interface, so you will want to consider using your ISP’s email client or use something like Thunderbird, if you prefer local clients.
Gee... that sounds like Jaun McLame, his campaign was paid for by "Friends of Jaun McLame", they were all EAST COAST Capitol Belt Way types.
Hey, I don’t wanna hijack a thread, but since you’ve been bashing on Mac, I need to fix your comments.
Macs do cost more than most PCs. But not feature for feature. You cannot buy a comparable PC for close to Mac. Mac is actually cheaper in cash at the time of sale, and performs better, no viruses, no down time, and has a much higher resale.
Mac simply does not sell a cheap $500 plastic box that will die on you. Gateway, Dell, Sony, Acer, are DESIGNED to make cheap low end, low margin PCs.
That this GD communist was using his iPhone to commit fraud, is only evidence that “apple” works best. LOL
I find it's quite useful for most people. I do agree, however, that OpenOffice and MS Office are not 100% compatible when it comes to layout, which really matters for desktop publishing.
Who is the Murkowski observer that got access. What’s his/her background?
Names and background needed!
