I've had this urge to watch SRV and Rory Gallagher videos all day, which is what I've been doing, and I started thinking, 'seems like it's about the anniversary of Stevie Ray Vaughn's death....damn!
Oct. 3, 1954 - Aug. 27, 1980.

I know BB King called SRV one of the greatest to ever live if not THE greatest.

Stevie was the greatest and was an inspiration to me as a guitarist. I was remembering with my wife how I heard the news of his death. They’ll never be another like him.

The first time you heard his solo on Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” you knew this guy was special.

Yeah I was one of those weird teenagers listening to the early SRV with my walkman while all my friends were jamming the AC/DC.

My 17 year old son corrected me...it was a helicopter crash. He ‘remembers’ and he wasn’t even born yet! My kids are huge SRV fans.

I love that clip. It’s on my favorites list on youtube. We like to play it and watch my 3 year old daughter dance. She always tries to stop when the guitar stops.

Why does he have a chinchilla on his hat?

Stevie and Rory Gallagher are two of my favorites. Throw in some Roy Buchanan and that works for me.

May God bless you and your young family.
I like the Blues, and SRV did absolutely great tributes to the art.

Could anyone explain this SRV worship to me??? Cause to me he sure is BORING.
To: FrdmLvr
Saw him play in Poughkeepsie before he sobered up. It was one of those "just put your guitar under the bed, Pardek" moments. Awe-inspiring.
I'll never understand how dudes can play like that when they're wasted.
