Highlights from Scott victory speech

Believe it or not, Rick Scott is your Republican nominee for Florida governor.

Here are some highlights from his victory speech tonight in Ft. Lauderdale:

“Remember me, the handsome bald guy? With a deep sense of humility, I’m here tonight to accept the Republican nomination for the office of governor of our great state of Florida.”

“The Republican party will come together, and the reason we will come together is our shared devotion to values that make America great.”

“Voters took a chance on me today. They know I’m not a politician. I didn’t come up through the political ranks. They know it was not my turn to be governor. But the voters also know this, that our state and our nation have been headed in the wrong direction for quite a while. People know that government cannot continue to expand, cannot continue to spend more than you make, cannot keep piling up record debt each and every year. It’s a mistake.”

Write in for Mccollum, or leaving it blank like a lot of others are going to do. Where do you draw the line on how scummy the candidate is before you say to yourself. “ I cannot bring myself to support a criminal,I have to have some ethics and moral code that are my standards”. This is about what the Republican Party stands for, We already know the bums, perverts, creeps, skunks, and crooks that the Democrats will support just because they have a D next to their name. Republicans do not do this up to now. This will be a killer blow to standards that Republicans have always had, and is really causing a lot of pain in the Members of the Party.

I do see your point and recognize it, however, isn’t that what happened when Perot entered the stage to elect slick willy with only 43% of the voters, because some were unhappy with GHWB, or when James Dobson intervened against McPain and brought us the biggest political scandal of an election “coup” in the nations history we now are fighting for???

This is really different situation for me and many other Florida Republicans.. Scott is so repugnant to decent and honest Republicans, he cannot do anything but harm this Party. It has already been almost destroyed by former RPOF chair Jim Greer and Charlie Crist. Having someone so tainted from past and present scandals, particularly in the Medical Field running for the Chief Executive Position of Florida is a tragedy. Ross Perot was all about ego and cutting spending , but also getting the Huge contract for his Computer Cards to implement Hillary Care. Scott has been Spending in excess of 60 Million to try and buy the Governors office. The bottom line is any Republican that is running for Office that does not stay far away from him will be painted with the same brush. Can you imagine Republicans trying to bite their tongue and say they support him for the sake of the party and then he is indicted? How do those Republican get their reputations back? How do we as a Party ever feel clean again? The answer is not in my lifetime. I spent a long time in Police Work, and that alone would prevent me from voting for someone that should be in Jail.
