Independents can vote in a primary, but I don’t think Democrats can vote in a Republican primary in AZ. However, JD was an imperfect candidate (I donated money to him in spite of some flaws), and McCain had 20 million + the state GOP in his hip pocket.

Very disappointing, since I now have to vote in Nov & decide if I should just withhold voting for McCain, or vote for his Democrat opponent. Won’t matter either way - McCain will carry AZ without difficulty in the general election.

It would be interesting to see the number of freshly declared independents who were previously registered as democrats.

I remember he was a congressman from Arizona and he was voted out of there after only 1 term wasn't he? Why?
