1. J.D. got caught up in the Abramoff scandal. Although the investigators finally had to admit they had zero case against him, it left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths.
2. He was in longer than one term, as I recall, but in the end he got his district gerrymandered out from under him. When they redrew the lines, he lost most of his stalwart GOP constituencies and got stuck with the campus of Arizona State(ist) University into the bargain.
3. In case you can’t tell from today’s election results, we’re all a bunch of f___ing idiots down here. That may also have been a factor.
