omg ... listen to the lady at about 1:30...
What a brilliant idea. Well done Patriots!
I’m thinking about going. I read a NYT article on it in July. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/01/magazine/01Appleseed-t.html If I had heard about the apple seed project in the spring, I would have signed up with my son.
It’s a whole lot of fun. It is great to hear the history of our country, and I couldn’t believe how much better my marksmanship improved over the two days. It’s a very family friendly event. You should definitely take your son. Women, anyone under 21, and Active Duty Military, Guard, or Reserve shoot free.
You can check the schedule here:

I didn't have the opportunity to shoot this one, but I hope to take advantage of the next.
We went this weekend (Actually due to work load I was only able to go Saturday, but everyone else followed up on Sunday). We learned a lot (7 yo, 9 yo, 13 yo) all improved in Safety, positioning, aiming, NPOA, sling usage, History etc.
The Instructors were professional and caring.
Don’t miss an Appleseed in your area - you will not regret attending.
Our range is running them, but I haven’t had a chance to attend. Every time they’ve held one so far has been a weekend I was shooting in a match.
I sure enjoyed the time I went to one. I really want to do it again.
Its a whole lot of fun
... you bet, and GREAT HISTORY plus excellant instruction and the crew of Scouts I took all shot for free. Take a Ruger .22 with extra circular mags in order to best perform on the shooting tests. My knees also wished I’d had a thick shooting mat for the constant drops to prone!!! I needed to practice my “flexibility” for seated/kneeling as well as getting up to standing without covering half the line?! Great way to spend a week end, take the whole family, but just do it!
