Ann Coulter on WND: 'They're a bunch of fake Christians'
WND ^ | August 22, 2010 | WND

Posted on 08/22/2010 3:29:07 PM PDT by RobinMasters

WASHINGTON – Conservative pundit Ann Coulter intensified her attacks on WND last night on Fox News Channel's "Red Eye" show, accusing those at the largest independent news site who dropped her from the "Taking America Back National Conference" in Miami of being "fake Christians."

Coulter claimed she was never actually booked for the event, repeated her resentment over publishing her e-mail explanations to WND Editor Joseph Farah for appearing at GOProud's Homocon event and lashed out at WND for "pushing the birther thing," which she said is not supported by any conservatives.

"These are fake Christians trying to get publicity," said Coulter.

Previously, Coulter called Farah a "publicity whore" and a "swine" for WND's decision to drop her upon learning of her plan to speak to the homosexual Republican group.

In response, Farah issued the following statement: "Coulter called me a 'publicity whore' for my decision. But look who is on television talking about this – throwing mud, name-calling, smearing not only me but my entire staff. I will not engage in the kind of ad hominem attacks that have made Coulter so famous and that are making her even more of a media darling in this age of reckless anger and character assassination for the sake of entertainment. Every day, since we made this decision at WND, I thank God for giving me the clarity of mind and discernment to make the right choice."

I tend to always agree with your posts, and I certainly do now.

Farah did the right thing....
..and Ann's response affirms he did the right thing!

The sad fall of a once entertaining conservative. My family used to see who could get her books first, now no one wants anything to do with her. truly a sad demise.

The jury is still out on whether a 6 foot tall “woman” with an adam’s apple, who hosts homocon and has never been married is really a female. The jury is still out on whether a 6 foot tall “woman” with an adam’s apple, who hosts homocon and has never been married is really a female.

Funny, I saw the same post over on the DUmp.

So Farah shouldn’t be in control of his own private political messaging? Did you know that in constitutional law forcing someone to “say” something they don’t want to say is as much an offence as “censorship?” But even more importantly, the First Amendment is not a limitation on private associations, but on the government. In fact, freedom of association is as important to constitutional liberty as freedom of speech. Would you force the Boy Scouts to accept gay speakers they didn’t want to host? Or would you force a church to accept an Imam teaching sharia law against the church’s desire, out of a fear of “censorship?” How is this picture you’re painting of forcing unwanted associations on Farah anything remotely like conservatism?

I respect them both, up to a point. If I found myself in a lifeboat with either one, I’d eventually swim for it.
That said, with 10 weeks to election, can’t they refrain from throwing stones in their glass duplex?

The most sensible comment I've seen so far.

Saying Christians are supposed to go out into the world with their message. Of course Ann isn’t an evangelist

So, did Ann preach a little gospel? Did she "kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity"?

I’m surprised Ann attacked like that.

IMO that is not good for her because it tells everyone still associating with her that if they stop agreeing or using her, they will attack them also.

Quiet would have served her better this time IMO.

That is an LSU tiger pimp. I know the guys that wear those outfits and are hilarious...

Ann is very smart, on this issue, not so.

So when Jesus visited sinners was that an endorsement?

Not saying Ann is Jesus. Saying Christians are supposed to go out into the world with their message. Of course Ann isn’t an evangelist, she’s an entertainer.

Ann is not going to homocon to preach the Word, nor to counsel the homos on the error of their ways. She is going to celebrate with them and endorse their organization. That is directly opposite what Jesus did. Jesus did not visit sinners to celebrate their sin. He went to them to guide them out of sin. Big, big difference. Your comparison is completely invalid.

“She is going to celebrate with them and endorse their organization. “

She is? Has she posted her agenda or her speech somewhere? You seem to know what she is going to say.

I dunno, she’s an entertainer getting paid to speak. Perhaps all you new Ann haters should wait to see what she has to say.

Ann thinks she’s Ted Olson.

Next she’ll be promoting the Ground Zero mosque.

Wow. In court we would say you were citing to facts not in evidence. He had to make the pre-final payments, which you did admit to be true for the sake of argument, correct? Who did he make them to? Casper the ghost? No, he made them to the speaker’s bureau, the intermediary responsible for communication about and scheduling of the event. In the ordinary course of business contracts, people don’t pay for a product they don’t believe they will get.

Therefore, Farah had to believe, based at minimum on communication with the agency, she had agreed to the job, else why would he have sent out those installments? And if they were acting in good faith as her agent, she had already represented her willingness to do the speech by accepting the first installment.

No, methinks you build your imaginative escape for Coulter with supports too fragile to bear the weight of the given facts.

As for your distrust of Farah’s motives, I would be interested to learn whether that is based on A) a solid body of unimpeachable fact, or B) your disagreement with some of his political positions. I have no particular dog in the fight, so feel free to educate me.

“IMO that is not good for her because it tells everyone still associating with her that if they stop agreeing or using her, they will attack them also.”

Considering Farah is the one who publicized a private email I can understand her being a little angry.

He could have easily posted a story saying he didn’t agree with her decision to speak at that event and was uninviting her.

Instead he chose to start a fight with someone not known for keeping her mouth shut and avoiding confrontation.

What makes you think I need to know what she is going to say? I'll tell what I know she won't say, and that is "Turn from your sinful ways. Reject homosexuality." She won't say that, will she? All she is going to do is be the guest celebrity at their function and give some mundane talk while they cheer and clap, and then they are all going to get together and party afterward. She doesn't need to say "I think you guys are cool." Actions speak louder than words.

I think she should have limited her response to, “I disagree with him, I think he is wrong and I always go to places people don’t agree with me to speak and plant seeds of new thought”.

Then leave it like that and say, “No Comment”

I don’t this serves her at all IMO.

Farah was making a point of WHERE she was going and what he did. I agree.

“Coulter may be doing the Jesus-dined-with-sinners-so-I-can-too thingy,”

When Jesus dined with sinners, He spoke to them about the kingdom of God and righteousness.

If the homosexual group invited Ann to teach them the Bible, then yes, that would be doing what Jesus did. Otherwise, it’s not the same thing and should not be compared.

“Farah was making a point of WHERE she was going and what he did. I agree.”

True but he used a private email to illustrate the point. That is where he crossed the line.

Ahh so you are judging her based on events that have not happened yet.
