TUCSON, Ariz. No one will ever accuse Jesse Kelly of bringing weak tea to the party.
The conservative 29-year-old Marine combat veteran and tea party favorite made waves this week when a video of him criticizing Sarah Palin's endorsements of "people who will sell our principles down the river" surfaced and caused a stir.
The brief moment of national notoriety notwithstanding, Kelly is surging at the end of the 8th District GOP primary campaign here, largely on the strength of an impressive grassroots organization and a cocky, free-wheeling style that contrasts sharply with that of the more measured, more disciplined former state Sen. Jonathan Paton...........
"Believe me, if my goal was to get on the Armed Services Committee, or Ways and Means or any of these other great committees you need to be on, then we'd be in a lot of trouble," he said. "My goal is to have my country back and to have a government that leaves me the hell alone and I don't want anything else. And I'm not there for the next cocktail party, and I'm not there to make a bunch of friends. I'm not there to go along with liberalism. I'm there to fight liberalism. That's what I'm going there to do."

Me too. I would like to know more about him. Love him so far.
He sounds like a damned fool, actually. If he wants to "have his country back," etc. the only way to do that is to become influential -- which means being on and become influential the very committees he so blithely dismisses. If he wants to "fight liberalism" in Congress, and thinks he's gonna do it on his own, then he deserves to lose.
Such is art my *bourgeois friend. (*not that there is anything wrong with that)
Man,you ARE old school.
Comes from back when Veterans were honored for just because.
Dang I miss those days!
“talented writing”
“art”
LOL
The relevance of your remark escapes me.
FYI I voted for JD, flawed candidate that he is. A wasted vote since McCain will win by double digits.
Would endorsing a candidate in the primary be including in attacking our own? By endorsing one, you are essentially saying you dont want the others. If you were fine with more than one, you wouldnt endorse until the primary is over.
Can you be a talented writer if you dont follow the grammatical rules?
Funny how nearly all of the Palinistas pretend to oppose McCain.
Your jarhead butthead comment made my day. My kid fits that description to a T and boot camp isn’t for another 4 months!
I like Palin, and anyone willing to bring back literal Constitutional law.
We’ll see
Go Sarah!
3....2...1 Well here I am. I would have come sooner, but I thought it only fair that I read posts from some of the exploding heads first.
The PDS sufferers search goes far and wide to find any alleged conservative that will be critical of Sarah Palin. Next up, the Pima County dogcatcher GOP candidate.
Interestingly omitted from the thread was the fact that Kelly said Palin was the best conservative candidate at this time and that he would probably vote for her in the primary if she ran, which he thought she would.
It appears that dense PDSers can’t delve past headlines from dinosaur media that float their boat. Next time be sure and watch the video before you make fools of yourself.
And BTW, the earmark kid will soon be in Boot Hill finished off by Capt. Queeg, so you AZ RINO-itis sufferers make plans to support the libtard DemCrap in Nov. Stay out of that Mojave Desert sun. It can make you delirious.
[Funny how nearly all of the Palinistas pretend to oppose McCain.]
I for one oppose McCain and support Palin. Do I like Palin’s endorsement of McCain? No. But I also find Palin has bigger balls than any conservative male out there, except for Michele Bachman :)
Unfortunately, those who try to live in perfect bubbles tend to be ineffective. Palin has done more to invigorate the Tea Party and conservatives than anyone out there, so until you guys suggest someone better I’ll take my marching orders from the Palinista camp.
Good thing you don't live in Arizona.
