many many people who have never had problems with work before are absolutely devastated and mentally in anguish.

Ever since my first job at 14 cleaning floors in a factory I have never been denied for a job until this year. I put in an application and/or resume and I get the job. I used to turn down job offers I didn't apply for even if they offered more money.

Not any more.

I've lost count of how many jobs I've applied for since January. Most of them don't even give the common courtesy of a letter saying "sorry we found someone else". I can count on one hand how many interviews I've had.

I won’t quote you back since what is happening to you really stinks — is relocating an option? I am hearing places like AZ and NV are in better shape.

“Most of them don’t even give the common courtesy of a letter saying “sorry we found someone else”.”

Those have mostly gone the way of the dodo bird.
