Glenn Beck has a message for the chronically unemployed: You're a bunch of un-American losers. The Fox News host thinks some 99ers those who have used up their 99 weeks of unemployment benefitsshould be embarrassed to call themselves Americans (Snip) "Go out and get a job," said Beck. "You may not want the job. Work at McDonald's. Work two jobs. There has been plenty of times in my life I've done jobs I hated, but I had no choice. Two years is plenty of time to have lived off your neighbor's wallet."

So you don’t want any of us to know where you work? Could it be that maybe your company got some the Porkulus money? Or is your company just on the Corporate Welfare teat?
>>So you dont want any of us to know where you work? <<
That is correct. I minimize my data footprint on the Internet. But it is one of the largest Tax/Audit/Consultancy companies in the world.
>>Could it be that maybe your company got some the Porkulus money? <<
Not that I am aware of, although the Federal sector (we have a pretty big Federal practice) might have landed some work funded that way.
>>Or is your company just on the Corporate Welfare teat?<<
Again, not that I am aware of. I am sure they use tax strategies that take advantage of every possible opportunity.
You seem angry.
I’m not angry. But I don’t like the “for me but not for the attitude.” Corporate welfare and all of the tax payer stimulus money going to large corporations is a whole lot worse and costs a whole lot more than unemployment benefits. You have come across very arrogant on this thread but I suspect there is a nice guy lurking under there somewhere. So I’ve come up with a way you can redeem yourself if you so choose. I had a job interview today and I feel it went very well. But one can never be too sure so how about say a little prayer for me tonight that I will get this job!
>>But one can never be too sure so how about say a little prayer for me tonight that I will get this job!<<
You shall be in my prayers tonight. I do hope it comes through for you.
I am nicer than I appear. What happens is that when I am struck I strike back harder and start an escalation that serves no purpose (I sometimes abandon and sometimes depressurize).
I really was trying to offer solid advice — I have been on both sides of the Hire discussion and think what I say has bank. You CAN’T just rest on what you are doing. You have to invest in yourself — with or without the firm’s help — and make yourself the last person the company wants to see go.
Good luck and let us know how it goes!
I will and thank you!
That’s good. That makes you valuable to the company with that kind of leadership and experience.
Well it sure beats stepping on the toes of those who can fire you....I will bide my time for now...til I have the scoop on who really is who and who matters and doesn’t. Always better to have your bosses recommendations than the boot!
