Former governor Rod Blagojevich was found guilty on only one of 24 counts against him. The jury appears hung on the others.
The guilty verdict was on Count 24: providing false statements to officers. After the reading, the jury was thanked and asked to return to the jury room.

Before the verdict was read, Judge Zagel said that there may not be verdicts in all 24 counts with which Blagojevich is charged -- and that any counts dealing with forfeiture will be dealt with on Wednesday morning.

Only one paying is Robert IF they retry him. Blago's defense will now be paid by the taxpayers.

The “you lied to us” is now a catch-all charge that is thrown in so that the jury can “agree” on, when nothing else can stick.
It also perpetuates the power of the state over citizenry.
We called it.

I guess it's just me, but I think that if the government couldn't make their case the first time, they should get a second shot.

Though in this case, you have to wonder what the vote was on the other 23. If it was 11-1 or 10-2, you have to wonder if someone “got” to a jury member or two. If the split was more even, no way they should re-try.
