Former governor Rod Blagojevich was found guilty on only one of 24 counts against him. The jury appears hung on the others.
The guilty verdict was on Count 24: providing false statements to officers. After the reading, the jury was thanked and asked to return to the jury room.

Before the verdict was read, Judge Zagel said that there may not be verdicts in all 24 counts with which Blagojevich is charged -- and that any counts dealing with forfeiture will be dealt with on Wednesday morning.

I do not condone lying, however, does anybody else find the charge of ‘lying to federal investigators’ just a little disturbing? Just one unintentional slip-up and they can throw the book at you. It could happen to anyone.

Convicted of Lying? All politicians are professional liars. Spend millions in trial to tell us something we all ready know ??
One guilty and 23 hung along with the reports of requests makes me believe there was one holdout on a lot of the counts.
THE BIG FISH WERE TOTALLY EXCLUDED from this trial .. it was a complete farce.

What a waste of taxpayer money. All they could get was a Martha Stewart conviction.
Really sucks that he has to pay his lawyers for another trial.
Blago has a good cause to appeal, but it may depend on the [negotiated] sentence. I don’t think he is worried about retrial.

Newflash: Jurors says they are not going to talk to the media at this time.
