Ok Florida boy,
The real question here is,
What year GTO?
Crotch rocket riders mount their license plates under their rear fenders for a reason. If they see a cop, they reach under there and bend the plate up so you cant see it from the rear. Harley riders have a similar trick. They mount their plates on the left side and down low on a folding bracket. If they see a cop or a radar camera they kick it with their left heel and fold it over.
In the Tampa St. Pete area are several bridges going across the bay.
Fools can buy a Hyabusa for 8000 bucks, put another 5 in to it and race at 200 against other fools at 2;00 A.M. and they do so often.
Are you saying a motorcycle swerving in front of a car isn’t a danger? They are a danger to all!
Me too, ahole.
While I do admire someone who can do a wheelie @ 60+mph, they're most definitely are a hazard to everyone.
A stock ‘busa will do 200 no prob. The extra 5grand just gets ya there quicker on a shorter stretch of road.
A friend was killed on the Courtney Cambell back in the 80’s. There was never a place for cops to sit because of the barriers and guardrail. It was wide open down there.
Track him down and kill him.
I don’t know the numbers nationwide, or even precisely here in Maryland, but most of the deadly motorcycle accidents here are caused by a careless driver turning in front of a motorcycle, or a single mc crash when the rider loses control. I could also add motorcyclists who get killed losing control after being chased by policemen. We also seem to have our fair share of out of control cops.
Seems to me if a motorcyclist does not surrender after a police begins a chase, continuing a chase is a battle of wills with a deadly sentence to some party as a likely outcome.
Not worthy on my book if they can be picked up later, at a time and place of the policemen choosing.
Somewhere online there is a picture of a small car that has a MC totally within it. The car was broadsided at very high speed and all three people - two in the car- were killed.
Yeah and pit bulls are a gentle breed that are just misunderstood.
WSP: Dash cam footage could’ve led us straight to taunting biker
Wednesday, August 11th, 04:33pm
State troopers say a valuable tool could have made a huge difference in their investigation of two reckless motorcyclists who put a state trooper in the hospital on Tuesday night.
Trooper Brian Salyer, 46, of Spanaway rolled his car several times while chasing the two motorcyclists, who were speeding at approximately 100 mph on Interstate 5. Detectives said the motorcyclists intentionally swerved into the trooper’s path, causing him to get in a wreck.
“Had he not slowed down and slammed on the brakes, he would have hit them,” said Trooper Cliff Pratt. “At his speed, that made him lose control.”
The injured trooper managed to call 911 for help. And as the trooper sat, trapped inside his mangled patrol car and bleeding at least one of the bikers returned to the scene to taunt him by laughing and clapping before speeding off again.
The incident left Salyer, a 22-year veteran of the force, with serious injuries. His fellow troopers were left fuming.
“It’s infuriating when all we’re trying to do is enforce the laws in the state of Washington and protect the public, said Pratt.
Investigators wish they had the one key piece of evidence that could lead them right to the two motorcyclists dash cam video.
Pratt said budget cuts have cut out dash cams from most Washington state patrol cruisers.
“It costs quite a bit of money to put a dash cam in every single car,” he said.
But troopers in other states are equipped with such cameras to record license plates, suspect descriptions - evidence.
And because motorcyclists in the area know troopers lack dash cams, Pratt said, more and more riders are prone to taunt officers.
“Bikes will come right up next to me, flip me off, pull a wheelie away from me, and I’ve got to sit there, wave and smile,” he said.
But this latest crash has produced some backlash from the riding community.
Mike Dunaway works as the sales manager at Renton Motorcycles, where he says many riders who pop wheelies and ride fast like to hang out. Dunaway is worried a couple of rotten bikers are now going to ruin it for everyone.
“It’s sickening to all of us,” he said. “They broke the law and disrespected it, and that is a big deal in our world.”
Investigators said they are tracking down several leads. The injured trooper has been released from Harborview Medical Center.
This event must have attracked other bikers. I count four other helments in the gathered crowd.
The cyclist’s motive for going back to the cop car was probably just to see if the cop was okay and when they saw he was conscious they reacted happily with applause.
