and then you work

A job is a right, eh? Well, back in the old USSR of the seventies, I saw plenty of people with jobs — people who, trust me, did NOT want to be working — old ladies sweeping major streets in Moscow with brooms that looked like something from the turn of the century, that sort of thing.
Soviets bragged nonstop that ‘everyone has a job.’ Maybe — but they were for the most part nasty jobs or ‘make-work’ type jobs. Taxi drivers ‘earned’ the same as doctors — there’s an incentive, right?
I wish I could convey to the millions here who have no clue what could come our way if we continue down this road — every detail about that trip stuck with me all these years - and I took another friend with me again in ‘85 so he could see it for himself. Very grim -— we MUST prevail in upcoming elections — this has got to STOP!
