A previously unknown stepsister of Barack Obama died unexpectedly earlier this year.
Internet researchers made the link between the president and his previously undisclosed stepsister, Holiyah "Lia" Soetoro Sobah, after translating from obituaries published in Indonesia. She died Feb. 26.
The obituaries identified Lia as having been adopted by Lolo Soetoro, Obama's stepfather, and Ann Dunham Obama Soetoro, the president's mother.
The surfacing of Lia as an adopted child of Lolo Soetoro and Dunham raises the question of whether Barack Obama himself might have been adopted officially as Lolo Soetoro's stepson while in Indonesia from 1967-1971.
Even though Obama makes no mention in "Dreams from My Father" of having had an Indonesian stepsister, the Indonesian obituaries make clear that Obama slept in the same room as his stepsister while the two of them grew up together in the Soetoro home in Jakarta....

I don’t believe any of this. It’s too funny. All that detail, that chatty obit, and no cause of death. She may have been a real person telling a tall tale, or she may be a new snopes page. I seriously doubt she was ever 0bama’s stepsister.

When you have a Muslim for a father and step father, and they are permitted under Sharia Law to have more than one wife at a time, you wind up with a heck of a lot of half brothers and sisters.
Adopted? I don’t think so. Probably a daughter of the father or step father with one of his wives who passed away.
This is all so creepy, and sad. And dare I say, downright un-American?

When we were in Bali a few years ago, we saw the elaborate construction for a fully decorated funeral pyre to honor the dead, many months after death.
Now Bali is not muslim, but I wonder if the traditions are the same in Jakarta. So the timing of a Zero visit, may not have had to coincide with her death
Malia is a pretty name. And she is a pretty young girl. Too bad her parents are such creeps.
The US is the only country in the world that is not sure if its president is legally qualified to occupy that position and it is also the only country that doesn’t try to find out if he is.
And maybe earlier and unofficially as Stanley Anne's stepson or something else.
