The National Boy Scout Jamboree ended, Wednesday, and President Obama broke a quasi-tradition by declining to address the Scouts.
The quadrennial event has been held at Fort A.P. Hill near Washington D.C. since 1981. This year's event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the organization.
In lieu of an appearance at the 10-day-long Jamboree, Obama appeared on the View, attended several Democrat fundraisers and visited Detroit.
He did send a short videotaped message which reportedly was shown in a mix of several other presentations. When the president appeared he was roundly booed by the 35,000 Scouts, one man who was there said.

Makes me think fondly of my days in scouting. Gotta get out the checkbook and send the local council a nice fat check.

At least that's how I remember it...
Liberals got wind of the video.Already a comment about Reagan not showing up. Damn liar, he showed up for every one of them during his term in office.
Watched the youtube.
They sure as hell were booing him.
They know we are watching this at FR. A comment made about you.
Now that bum’s insulting JimRob.
They’ll try to get the vid pulled soon.
(Tough cheese, though. I already downloaded it. If it’s pulled, I’ll re-upload it myself.)
Hahahahaha ... did you hear the kid towards the end screaming “I hope you’re watching this!”
Alrrrriiiiiight!
Yep, and the subtitle explained they were booing about the no-show. I’m strangely comfortable with it.
Maybe they are just “being prepared” to take these socialists on?
“They sure as hell were booing him.”
“Be prepared” ... looks like they are! What this Marxist/Black Liberation Theologist dirtbag is doing to us, they BETTER be prepared.
There were audible boos from many places in the crowd when the President's videotape message was introduced, although there was also some polite applause. It was far short of the whole crowd booing, but the reception was definitely very chilly.
Personally, I could not bring myself to breach the non-political nature of Boy Scouts, so I chose to remain silent, neither applauding nor booing. It was quite a sad moment for me that I did not feel I could the President at a Boy Scout meeting, so standing silent was hard enough.
Visiting others in the Boy Scout community during the day leading up to the evening event, nearly everyone present was disgusted that the President would chose to attend a fundraiser in New York over celebrating the 100th anniversery of the Boy Scouts. They played the President's message during the pre-show, when people were still gathering in the big arena, and not during the main 3 hour show. The main show (which was a very professional 'Disney'-like production and was simulcast over the web) included video messages from Ted Nugent and others, so it was a bit of a return slight that the President's message was played during the pre-show and not the main program.
BTW, I had to correct myself on the post.Reagan did not show
Wonder what that guys DU, DK nick is?
When slick was Pres., our Troop including Son were making Eagle and its traditional for the President to write a letter to each Scout upon acheiving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Our Troop and many others from what can tell, declined to submit Scout’s names as no one wanted slick’s sliming this big deal in their lives. Right after W got in everyone of the Eagles got a letter instead from President Bush.
It has been a rewarding, though surprisingly fast journey with him along the Eagle Trail. It has gone entirely too fast, but watching a 7-year old boy enter the Tiger Cubs and an 18-year old man leave the Scouts is an amazing experience.
You can’t fool boy scouts. Pity they can’t vote—yet.
Yup, that’s how I remember to too. You are right.
Actually, I just copied it from the official BSA site.
Thanks... tired of going blogs just to see the context of the title of the thread.
Did everyone read the comments at the video? Because of someones signin name, Jim Robinson was dragged into this? Isn’t that statement libel?
Should a Boy Scout be
Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful,
Friendly, Courteous, Kind,
Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty,
Brave, Clean, and Reverent
toward a man-child who is an illegal alien, a homosexual, an impostor-in-chief, a Muslim, an incompetent idiot, and a rabid Marxist/Leftist who hates America with every fiber of his being, is determined to destroy it, and is the antithesis of everything the Boy Scouts stand for?
Should this empty suit be saluted by any one civilian or military?
