WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sen. Al Franken apologized Thursday for being rude to Sen. Mitch McConnell as the Senate's top Republican was winding up a solemn debate on the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court.
Franken, a liberal Democrat from Minnesota, was presiding over the Senate as McConnell explained his opposition to President Barack Obama's high-court nominee.
A Senate GOP aide said Franken made theatrical gestures and whispered under his breath as the Kentucky senator spoke. It was distracting enough that McConnell went up to the former comedian afterward and said, "This isn't 'Saturday Night Live,' Al."

“Im still waiting for the people of Minnesota to apologize for this voting in this joke.”
I’m sorry I was able to cast only one vote against him.

Take out the illegal votes cast by felons, he would have lost the election.

“This isn’t ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Al.”
That will show them. Tough. Decisive. As opposition to the Kagan nomination has been all along . . .

It was distracting enough that McConnell went up to the former comedian afterward and said, "This isn't 'Saturday Night Live,' Al." I'm glad McConnell called Franken on his boorish behavior. Too often, Dems are allowed to get away with it, because the Republicans in Congress have this need to 'go along to get along'.

A Senate GOP aide said Franken made theatrical gestures and whispered under his breath as the Kentucky senator spoke. It was distracting enough that McConnell went up to the former comedian afterward and said, "This isn't 'Saturday Night Live,' Al." As far too many people need to be reminded that they are not in their own living room when they go to a movie theater (the TALKING!!!), it is very, very sad that he would treat the floor of the Senate as though he's back sitting in that room with the other writers of SNL skits.
It should come as no surprise, however, what with the way so many refer to our elected officials as *rock stars*, treat them as celebrities rather than those endowed with the Public Trust. Too much to ask for a bit of respect for the office, the place then, Mr. Franken?

And Minnesota’s Greenie-weenie RINO governor stood by and let it happen.

"This isn't 'Saturday Night Live,' Al."Nope. But Al's still not ready for prime time.

When Franken was presiding, Senator Leiberman asked the chair for the very routine, and always granted request to extend his remarks.
His Frankeness said NO!

This guy is a joke.. Franken was a joke before he ran for Senate.
Now he is a criminal. Let Justice be served for the seat he stole.

I think Franken was either drunk or high. I suspect he has much more class when he's under the influence. That was the real Al who we now know wasn't even legitimately elected.
I kinda doubt he'll run for re-election.
