Most Livable State in the U.S.A. Is...
...New Hampshire. This is the fifth consecutive year the Granite State has topped this list published by CQ Press.
New Hampshire ranks No. 1 because it excels in numerous important quality-of-life measures, including low crime, low poverty, high income levels and a well-educated population. Coming in right behind New Hampshire are Utah, Wyoming, Minnesota and Iowa.
The least livable state is Mississippi, a position it has held on this CQ Press list for nine of the last 10 years. Close behind Mississippi are South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas.

It’s a shame that the liberals have ruined California as a great state. I’ve never been, but it seems like such a grand place.
I don’t think I could live in southern Arizona because of the heat. Northern AZ would probably be my choice if I had to leave CO.

I’ve been thinking about Colorado Springs, I might make a move in about 1-2 years but I’ll need a job, are there an major employers there?
I've lived in both Minneapolis and Phoenix (Scottsdale).
Mrs. Whiskers and I made a point-by-point comparison of all of the quality-of-life indicators, and Scottsdale won on all of them except...
1) education (colleges in particular)
2) the weather.
So we moved back up here: best decision we ever made.

Prescott is the place. Conservative overall, mild winters, and you don’t need oven mitts to drive in the summer.
Southern California is truly beautiful. Perfect weather, lovely beaches, surprisingly green and lush with vegetation. I'm a Colorado native who now resides in the conservative enclave of Coronado, just across the bay from the moderately liberal San Diego and when I jog in the morning, I really do marvel at just how stunning this place is.
That being said, it pains my heart at how screwed up this state has become! Ruined by the liberal voters of Los Angeles and the Bay Area who have forced so many ills on what was once the showcase of the world. I really hope this place can pull themselves together but first the voters will have to elect people willing to make some painful changes.

I am not buying Maryland being that high up in the rankings. No offense to MD Freepers, but MD is a liberal mess. If you like traffic, a high cost of living, and high taxes, go to Maryland!

Well, if relocating to a conservative area is in your plans, I’d suggest you take a good look at the Florida panhandle, between Panama City and Pensacola. Travis AFB, Eglin AFB, Pensacola Naval Air Station, and more...lots of military and retired military people.
Property values are in the toilet, and still plummeting. Air conditioning bills are a bit of a pain, but we don’t pay much for heat.
The Emerald Coast which sand beaches are among the finest in the nation. The fishing is great, the hunting is better than you’d expect... Golf? Are you kidding me? This is paradise.
with the exception of snow sports, there are few better places in the US to pursue your recreational passions than the Florida panhandle.
And if you’re a single guy, I can say that having lived in 13 different states you’ll have a very hard time finding a place with a higher density of attractive and often educated women than you’ll find here.

Move to the White Mountains...a tad chilly in the winter, especially at Hawley Lake. But it is a wonderful place to live and no more heat!
They can have those other states. We have it good in the South.
I’ll keep that in mind. Might not ever live there, but would be a place to visit. What’s to do in Prescott?
