The Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish organization whose programs "counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry," has released a statement excoriating plans to build an Islamic community center and mosque near Ground Zero.
"Proponents of the Islamic Center may have every right to build at this site, and may even have chosen the site to send a positive message about Islam. The bigotry some have expressed in attacking them is unfair, and wrong," the statement reads.
"But ultimately this is not a question of rights, but a question of what is right. In our judgment, building an Islamic Center in the shadow of the World Trade Center will cause some victims more pain unnecessarily and that is not right," it says.
The ADL recommends the city "would be better served if an alternative location could be found."
Conservatives, including Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Rudy Giuliani, have been frothing over the plans for the mosque, calling it an insult to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Get your Tea Party Pulled pork NY sandwich there TODAY!
There is no reason why both building permits cannot be granted simultaneously.
Palin 1, Bloomberg 0.
Blind squirrel...acorn...
There are whackjob moonbats commenting on this topic at the Washington Post.

Stupid is really strong there.
FOxman is a two-faced weasel. He attacks those who are against the Mosque/Center while excusing the proponents of it as just “can’t we all get along” Rodney King types.
SOmetimes Foxman as a cure is worst than the disease, and this is one of those times.

They get in all of my few remaining nerves.
Sometimes?
Alot of Jewish people lost their lives or family members in the 9/11 attack. This Imam talks about the US being Sharia law compliant and that US brought on the attack. Also won’t call Hezbolah and Hamas terrorist organizations.
Hopefully they will come out against Congressman McMahon for publishing his challenger Grimm’s Jewish donors.
“Alot of Jewish people lost their lives or family members in the 9/11 attack....”
What are you talking about? A young friend of my daughter (they were in high school together at the time of the attacks) told me that NO Jewish people were killed, that “they” all knew it was going to happen (because, of course, “they” plotted the entire thing to start a war between America and the Moslems), that “the Jews” circulated it amongst themselves and not one of them showed up for work or for appointments at the WTC or were in the area for any other reason.
Now being a teenager, she of course knew everything about everything and the stars in her eyes where her boyfriend was concerned illuminated the absolute truth of everything he told her. Who was I to argue with such brilliance?
That pig looks way too happy to be served for dinner! LOL
BTW: I love the idea. I have a feeling it wouldn’t last too long, and because of the risk of a pig place being next to a mosque the insurance would probably be prohibitive...
Wow, that’s quite the Lefty site, given the comments.
Bush did us no favors labeling it the “war on terror”. Seriously, could we be any more nebulous? And now this Administration is dumbing things down even further.
There apparently is a segment of the liberal American Jewish Community which doesn’t give a tinker’s damn about the Holy City of Jerusalem, the sacred site of Solomon’s Temple, the meaning of the wailing wall and the significance of the State of Israel.
My guess is that segment is comprised of “cultural” Jews who follow the customs of their recent ancestors but not the Spirit of the Torah and the word of Yahweh.
Perhaps they should take a pilgrimage to Masada and contemplate the probable outcome for them and the rest of humanity should Islam triumph there and in the west.
Wikipedia puts the 9/11 Jewish death count at 500, which accounts for over 15% of those who died. That’s quite a significant percentage, and is greater than their representation in the greater New York population.
Well, when one is “Liberal” it trumps everything (as an earlier poster on this thread said).
That would include Judaism, Catholicism, Evangelicalism, Protestantism, Republicanism, or whatever.
Which proves Dr. Savage’s theory that liberalism is a Mental Disorder.
Just wow.
To eradicate or to be eradicated, that is the question.
Did I really need a sarcasm tag?
