Seriously what we have here is four dedicated sailors rewarded for their years of outstanding service to this country, only NPR is biased enough to think of them purely based upon their sex.

Sigh. Sounds like a fraud. I hate this kind of thing. It is sad, that someone would stoop to it...

I know I ought to feel anger and demand he be horsewhipped, but all I can feel is pity that someone feels they have to do that because it is the only thing that can make them feel worthwhile.

Sad.

Not so long ago Canada was presented with the image of two gay male RCMP officers in full scarlet dress, being married in Nova Scotia.

That's simply fabulous.

Okay. Black women, white women, maybe hispanic or asian woman (hard to tell)

What are the odds?

Again, these may be fine sailors. But I don’t think that is what this is all about, and I cannot stomach it. It grates on me.

And I can only imagine how guys in the Navy must feel. (Not that they want to get the award or anything, because most don’t really care about it, but...it is a pretty obvious PC thing)

SEALs don't like that fake bullsh#t. Get his name and report it to an online site that looks into that stuff. We had someone like that here at A&M that lost a $300,000 /year job who was "advising" prospective cadets here on becoming SEALs.

He was so full of cr#p.

I've met several and went to school with one and they tend to be professional.

They really don't have to "prove" anything, cause they've "done everything". I like the way they fight. But that's just me.

The photo screeches volumes. It looks like a feminist taco.

Now you know why they call them "Mounties".

About 20 years ago I took my son to Washington, DC to visit the Air & Space museum at the Smithsonian. While wandering around the exhibits I spotted the names of the “First Four Women Naval Aviators” displayed on the wall.

Since I gone through flight training at Pensacola with these women, including making better grades and being named “Student of the Week” for two of my four phases, I felt a wee big “oppressed, downtrodden and disadvantaged”. But I got over it.... partly....

Now I am working on a Class Action Anti-Discrimination lawsuit against the NBA. Careful research has revealed endemic, system wide discrimination and EXCLUSION by the NBA against short, old, fat, out-of-shape, can’t-run/jump/shoot WHITE Guys!

I am only asking for reparations equaling the average rookie salary, plus four court-side season tickets from each team in the NBA. I plan to sell those to someone who actually cares about NBA basketball.

Never mind the fact that they are all women. It used to be that “sailors” went to sea. Now they sit on their bum ashore and get rewarded. Just think of all the poor men serving multiple deployments who go unrecognized. What a disgrace.

One of them, I don’t know which, was on a flight I was on late last week. The stewardess announced her and we gave her a round of applause.

Women have no serious business in fighting forces aside from bureaucratic, administrative and secretarial work.

My sister was a fighter pilot. She went to Afganistan. I guess that was not 'serious business'.

HM = Corpsman, medical.
OS = Operations Specialist, typically going to be administrative, intelligence assets
CT = Intelligence units/could be secretarial.

So, all 4 work in fields I’d say you classified correctly.

Your point?

Your statement is completely buffoonish. There are about a million tasks in the military (other than bureaucratic, administrative and secretarial tasks) that women can perform quite admirably. Not very many military tasks require hand-to-hand combat.

I would never say such a thing, and I think these sailors may be top notch at what they do, butI do not believe women belong in combat, and it has nothing to do with the fact that there are women out there who CAN do it.

But that isn’t what this thread is about. This thread is about Political Correctness, and it appears to be rampant in the US Navy.

Not very many military tasks require hand-to-hand combat.

That is rarely guaranteed, the Airborne and commandos are especially geared to land among those people that you think are out of bounds for combat.

Strength comes into play in many areas such as changing a truck tire, moving a 20 gallon pot of soup off a stove, loading and unloading 100 pound shells, fetching a 50 cal. for someone, digging and creating fortifications.

All those things that women can't do in your daily life? Well, they can't do them in the military either, that is why we have the real military and their standards and level of testing, and then the second level of the military, with their sex separate standards and level of testing.

You would be surprised to see how often the men are watching the humorous, keystone efforts of females trying to perform simple, everyday tasks in the military, that is why the female is usually given the clipboard.

I should not have called your statement "bufoonish." I don't really agree with you, but you make a reasonable (and respectful) argument for your position.

First, I served in the United States Marines from 1992 to 1997. Second, what is the percentage of enlisted women to men? I know women make up 15% of the entire Navy staff. Thus some are officers and would not be counted for this reward. Now getting back to my original point....

You honestly believe all 4 of these women deserve their awards when the enlisted women in the Navy is less than 15% of the entire enlisted/NCO ranks? Give me a freaking break! Anyone with half brain will knows this.

Like I said all this is going to divide the Navy from within its own ranks. It's political nonsense B.S. ? I guess the Navy is more worried about sucking up Obama’s a$$ than performance from its ranks? They just want to PRETEND they are fair when everyone (including these 4 women) know its ALL BULL$HIT!
