Insurgent Colorado Senate candidate Ken Buck is apologizing for a degrading remark he made about the Tea Party movement last month that was caught on tape by a Democratic tracker.
The Denver Post and 9News is expected to report Sunday night that Buck referred to the members of the Tea Party as "dumbasses" after a campaign event in Crowley, Colo. last month.
"Will you tell those dumbasses at the Tea Party to stop asking about birth certificates? Woah, I'm on camera. God, what am I supposed to do?," Buck says on the tape, according to his campaign.
Buck campaign spokesman Owen Loftus told POLITICO that the candidate spent Sunday explaining and apologizing for the remark in interviews with the state's two dominant news outlets.
"Ken points out he does gets frustrated at times with those individuals pushing those issues. He shouldn't have cussed. He regrets the remark. He was venting his frustration to a Democratic tracker and he shouldn't of," said Loftus.
Loftus said that Buck, whose candidacy has been fueled in part by Tea Party members uninspired by one-time GOP frontrunner Jane Norton, was aware he was speaking to a Democratic tracker and simply made a mistake. The birther issue has been a tricky one for Buck to navigate: While he signaled he would support legislation to ensure a presidential candidate has U.S. citizenship at a meet-and-greet in June, he has also stressed it is not a priority for his campaign.

Romanoff will pick the RINO clean.
More than anything, this issue tells me what a person’s real stance is on the rule of law, willingness to kiss up to the media and jump through the establishment hoops, and the importance of truthfulness.
At this point I have a hard time believing that anybody believes Obama’s records are in order because they haven’t heard otherwise - unless that person ONLY listens to the network news, in which case they can’t be trusted for that reason alone. If they believe his records are in order it is most likely because they are wilfully refusing to hear the facts of the case. And that also is reason to distrust them.
So this issue is a pretty good litmus test of a person’s character, I think. The way they respond to the facts when they are presented says a lot about their epistemology and earnestness also.
Anybody who cares about the rule of law better care about this issue.

Bull spit...
Bull spit yourself. Ever play Spades? You don't play your aces first.
Stop Obama's agenda first and drive him out of office which will then resolve the BC issue. Talking about it now ain't going to do squat except make us look like a bunch of Alex Jones kooks.
Buck, you see the light at the end of the tunnel? That’s the headlights of the TEA Party rolling right at you. It is too late to suck up and try to play nice. You obviously don’t get what the TEA Party is about.
If you ask me, the biggest dumbass is Buck Campaign Manager Owen Loftus, who says "shouldn't of" when he means "shouldn't have." Such ignorance of one's own language should warrant a summary execution, and his grade school teachers should also be hunted down and shot.
If you’re worried about how you look while the country is being overrun by thugs you’ve got the wrong priorities.
The fact that government, media, and law enforcement are all in each others’ beds is EXACTLY what we need to confront - it’s what enables all this lawlessness - and until we are ready, willing, and able to take th bull by the horns and hit the enemy right on the bullseye, we’re just kidding ourselves that we’re doing anything that even matters. Where there is no rule of law it doesn’t matter who we put in office because nothing they pass as law is going to be enforced anyway.
The fact of the matter is that every level of government, media, and law enforcement has ignored clear evidence of crimes committed all along the way. I am about as disgusted as it is possible for anybody to be with our so-called conservative SCOTUS. We’ve been sold down the river and they know it just like we all do.
Until the crooks in government, media, and law enforcement know we’re wise to their crap and aren’t going to take it any more, we’re gonna keep getting this criminal behavior.
Stopping Obama’s agenda does nothing to the BC issue nor to the issue of the rule of law.
BUT force the rule of law to be followed in the BC issue and you will stop Obama’s agenda because everybody he’s counting on to pass and enforce his agenda will be rotting in jail where they belong.
Jane is a RINO anointed by Juan McShame.
I should add, as will he.
Redstate backs Ken Buck, so am thinking there must be a lot of redeeming, conservative, qualities. Maybe we should not beat him up too bad until we see what else in happening.
I’m not very impressed with Redstate. They are totally closed to the facts on Obama’s eligibility and I find it hard to trust them with anything if they are so careless with the facts on the one thing I do know a lot about. If that’s their epistemology, they could be wrong on a lot of other things too.
"Ken points out he does gets frustrated at times with those individuals pushing those issues. He shouldn't have cussed. He regrets the remark. He was venting his frustration to a Democratic tracker and he shouldn't of," said Loftus.IOW, he's a dumbass.
Slightly off topic, but can you really be sure Loftus said “shouldn’t of” instead of “shouldnt’ve”? It could just as likely be a bad reporting job- journalists not being known for their mastery of the English language....
The Tea Party is not about birth certificates. Dumbass
Wow. In the immortal words of Ophelia Ford, “That was DUMB!!!!!!!”
Well....Butterdezillion is right. How a person responds to the Obama eligibility issue reflects their true character, their commitment to truth and the rule of law.
I know where you stand. It’s a deal breaker issue.
This gaffe comes on the "heels" of his "heel" remark.
