One sound bite does it for Shirley though, eh Barry?
He threw his pastor and his mother under the bus so anyone who thinks they're safe is nuts.

Apparently Krauthammer agrees too. I havent seen it yet, but according to one of Aces co-bloggers, CK said on Special Report a few minutes ago that Sherrod deserves an apology and her job back. The NAACPs statement:

Honestly sometimes I wonder why anyone bothers.
Good point!
but maybe Breitbart got part of a tape and ran with it.
Shirley said she sent them to one of their own (a white lawyer). The farmer’s wife said, they were given a choice of a black lawyer and a white lawyer, they chose the white one because he was closer. So, either one of them did not recount the story correctly, OR this is not the same white farmer.
Stretching there.....
I think that that is entirely possible. However, they also might have been people willing to sit for 20 years listening to Reverend Wright. I just don’t know how much slack they should be cut. The culture is different from what many of us experience and clearly many of them and especially their parents have put up with a lot of nonsense from white people.
Fixed it.
So you think that if someone talks about how they used to be, they should be slammed for that, instead of how they are now?!?

I agree that THIS is the real story.
When she was describing her chip-on-the-shoulder reaction to the way the farmer was talking to her (he thought "he wanted to show he was superior to me"), when she was describing how she did less than she could for him, and how she sent him to "one of his own kind," the NAACP audience hooped and hollered and cheered.
I think when Shirley realized the reaction she was getting, she started to pander to the racist audience.
I think this is clear when she said "it's not a black and white thing, it's a haves versus have not thing" but caught herself halfway through and said "well, it IS sort of a black versus white thing."
Publicly speaking to a large audience can be intimidating for many people, and there is a natural tendency to seek the approbation of the audience based on their reaction to one's speech.
When she saw how the audience reacted in a pro-racist way to her telling the part of the story where she acted in a racist manner to the white farmer, I think she ovv-the-cuff interjected the "well, it IS sort of a black versus white thing" in order to continue to get a good reaction from the racist audience.
That way we can show we're fair.
If there was an incorrect rush to judgment the Left have only themselves to blame. It is they via the MSM who setup the system of “instant reaction to the 24 hour news cycle”. If it caught one of their own in the wake that’s too bad.
Yes it was her feelings 24 years ago...Hey just cool it till we see the tape.
If she is describing how she HAD felt 24 yrs ago, Breitbart has nothing...even with the audience comments, cause maybe that’s how THEY had felt and were laughing at that.
I can’t beleive everyone sees a snippet of a film and is so sure that is what the whole talk etc was about.
Yeah, FOX news just played it again. They clearly cheered and applauded as she told how she shorted the farmer. The NAACP is a racist organization!
NO, it is not clear it was in the present..she talked about an incident IN THE PAST.
LOL. Have any brush burns from that fall off the turnip truck.
You’re right. There is no racism in the NAACP.
I don’t know how she is now, other than the fact that she is comfortable in front of a crowd saying things like “sent him to one of his own”. Maybe you know her personally and could give me a little more insight. I didn’t see any amazing story of redemption, I didn’t even hear her say she never did it again, or wouldn’t do it again.
Obama wrote that he sought to emulate the hateful racist black nationalist “Malcolm X.” Do you think that he has changed his mind and no longer admires “Malcolm X?” For twenty years Obama practiced “black liberation theology,” a racist communist anti-American hate cult. Do you think Obama has repudiated the hateful racist ideology he practiced for twenty years and taught to his children?
LOL.
i agree with you the NAACP is a racist organization...but I still believe the jury is out on this woman.
