Muslims ‘Prepare’ For Pope Visit To UK

Muslims ‘Prepare’ For Pope Visit To UK July 20, 2010 Greg Burke The controversy surrounding Pope Benedict’s September trip to the United Kingdom has kicked up a bit after an Islamic website invited Muslims to “tell the pope just what they think of him after his insults against the Prophet Muhammad.”

The Islamic Standard welcomed the change of venue for an event on the last day of the pontiff’s visit, Sept. 19, from Coventry to Birmingham.

Birmingham, the second-largest city in England after London, is about 15 percent Muslim, and the website said it was a good opportunity for Muslims to confront “disbelievers” and to “tell the pope in no uncertain terms what Muslims think of his evil slanders against the last Prophet of God and his message.”

The Islamic Standard also referred to the Catholic Church as the “sodomite child-molesting Church of Rome.”

Pope Benedict angered Muslims on a 2006 trip to Regensburg, Germany, in which during a long, academic discourse he quoted a Byzantine emperor who said, “Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

And your point is? The Pope himself is a pedophile or that both pictures are taken out of context? Do tell!

The linguist Deborah Tannen mentions this Arab proverb: “the one who repeats an insult is the one who is insulting you”.

I wonder if something like this is in play here :-)

I’m glad I don’t live in England. I can only imagine HOW the muslims are preparing for the Pope’s visit.

But I know how everyone else can prepare, and that is pray for his protection. That will thwart the intent of the enemy.

James 5:16 ... The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Touche?

Douche!

I’ve never posted a comment to someone like you but you’re in dire need of help.

Your hatred for the Church is misplaced on this thread.

The Pope is actively perusing those involved(VERY FEW) and he’s openly acknowledged those abuses, as well as, asking for forgiveness from the abused.

Try to grasp that for a bit.

The Pope and Manuel Paleologos, whom he quoted, both spoke the truth. Islam “can’t handle the truth.” Too bad the Pope then backed down.

He didn't back down. He expressed sadness at their reaction and followed it up with a call for religious freedom in the middle east!

I was going by contemporary radio news reports, I think. Of course, those probably incorporated the usual MSM anti-Christian spin. Anyway, one should not apologize for simply telling the obvious truth.
