More great news: Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston reportedly shopping reality show

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes … a Gosselin-esque bit of child exploitation? Granted, it’s TMZ that’s reporting it, but this isn’t the only data out there pointing towards a show of some kind. Ricky Hollywood’s lawyer was conspicuously noncommittal when asked about it by the NYT, saying ominously, “I can’t talk about that until the end of the week.”

What could go wrong?

Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin are already looking to bring outsiders into their upcoming marriage — in the form of a reality TV crew … this according to a source very familiar with the negotiations.

TMZ has learned the couple has been shopping “multiple reality shows” around town — some of the ideas involve the couple AND their two-year-old son, Tripp.

We’re told the leading concept involves all three people — and will focus on “parenting issues.”

I’ll give you three possibilities. One: Palin’s gone mad and has secretly blessed this freak show on the assumption that the buzz will somehow help her politically.

Like it or not, people view a mother's role in the family different from that of the father, and that is why the analogy to Ronald Reagan fails.

I like Sarah a lot. Still have her bumper sticker on my car, and that's saying a lot since I live in Massachusetts, but if I were to be brutally honest, I would say this significantly impacts her chances as a serious contender for the Presidency in 2012.

Cooooooool!! I really hope it comes on right after Ice Road Truckers. I hate to think how miserable life was before reality TV, now it keeps getting better.

That was sarcasm.

I think you’re a liar. And your sweet little sentence “I think moms make the most difference. We are, by nature, the most nurturing of the two.” Confirms you did it wrong. The father should be paramount in the home. You messed up. Too bad for your kids. You probably didn’t know any better.

“I would say this significantly impacts her chances as a serious contender for the Presidency in 2012.”

Lets first see what happens with this. So far it's just a rumor, and other new sources are saying a different story. See my earlier post with links and comments. There have been soooo many bogus rumors about the Palins started, and way to many FR posters willing and eager to help spread them. Unlike these Freepers, I will not help the media.

If Palin shares the stage at the GOP debates in 2012, then I am giving her as much chance as the rest of them up there to convince me to vote for them in the Primary. I am not going to let pissant or any other FR poster, fanatic about another candidate, sway me otherwise,

Hey, dad’s are important too! But when you’ve got a family, who usually works? Dad right? So that means mom is (or should be) home taking care of the kids.

That’s a weird concept for you? What planet are you from?

That’s an admirable position, but it’s the people outside the conservative base who will be affected by this the most, and they are the one’s who ultimately decide elections. I don’t see this going over very well with them. When you have baggage like this, it only takes a simple distraction to lure them away from a candidate. Much as I would love to see her as President, I just don’t see it happening now. The proverbial can of worms has been been opened, and it can’t be closed now. I think a lot of people are seeing that, and some, more than others, are willing to say it.

Well Done.

I will wait and see. But I think it just to judge a person by their kids.

You’re right. Good parents can have misguided children.
I guess I’m just a bit disappointed in Bristol. Only time will tell if she wakes up or not.

I really like Sarah and wish the best for her and her family.
I just hope her other daughters make better decisions.

They really are a beautiful family. Best wishes to them. :)

Maybe they can do a show with the Half Pint Brawlers, and those midgets will kick Levi'ass up over his head so he has to unzip his fly to see where he's going.

Now THAT would be entertainment!

"Patty posed for Playboy for goodness sake and smeared the family..she grew up and realized what she did was wrong.."

Patti and the Playboy thing was a little different. She posed for Playboy in 1994 and her father had already been out of office for five years. Also, Patti was definitely grown up when she did it, she was 41. If I correctly remember some of her interviews of a few years ago when her book came out, she was pretty proud of the whole thing. Though others might see that entire episode as an indiscretion, she obviously does not. Some people are like that. As the French might put it, "Je ne regrette rien"

Whether Bristol and Levi will say the same in years to come remains to be seen. I hope it works out for them.

Not if too many voters come down with Palin fatigue. I am already feeling it myself.

I like Sarah, but maybe her first priority should have been her family and not her career.

I don't know what more she could do about Bristol, I mean, she's a grown woman. At that point you've got to rely on prayer.

Whatever....the kids are old enough to decide what they want to do.
But, I think this means Mama Palin is happy to be a thorn in Obama’s side....but not going to be running for higher office.

There you go again. Reporting on rumors. If you think you're making any friends for your candidate...you're not.

I think the kids are betting Sarah will pay more to keep them off the air than a network will to put them on.

Good advice. Bristol seem to be addicted to celebrity attention. If the Palin family was not seen as a public phenomenon, perhaps Bristol would have less temptations to give into.
