Our monthly look at who GOP voters prefer as their 2012 nominee finds that Sarah Palin is the most popular potential Republican hopeful with the base...but that she finishes just fourth when it comes to who they want as their nominee. For the first time Newt Gingrich is the leader in this poll with 23%, followed by Mike Huckabee at 21%, Mitt Romney at 19%, Palin at 17%, and Ron Paul at 7%.
70% of Republicans have a favorable opinion of Palin, putting her tops. That's followed by Huckabee at 64%, Gingrich at 63%, and Romney at 59%. But only 24% of the GOP loyalists who like Palin list her as their top choice for the 2012 nomination. Gingrich is ahead even though he's not as popular because 34% with a positive opinion name him as their top choice for the nomination. That figure is 31% for Romney and 28% for Huckabee. There is a significant disconnect between liking Palin and thinking she should be President, and that's one of the biggest things she'll have to overcome if she does end up getting into the race.
Angry white men were credited for making Gingrich Speaker of the House in 1994 and they're propelling him to the lead in this poll. He gets 26% from them with Romney at 20% and Huckabee and Palin both at 17%. Huckabee has the advantage with women at 26% to 19% for Gingrich, 18% for Romney, and 17% for Palin.

I wish they would stop lying. They sound like the dems.
To Hell with all of them. I nominate Allen West to be the first black president.
...to the can.
Yup.
It has been widely reported that neither of Jindal's parents were United States citizens when he was born.
And if Newt stumbles, we always have Bob Dole and Barbara Bush waiting in the wings. Too bad that tragedy short-circuited the Thurmond 2012 campaign (”Strom, we hardly knew ye!”).
Ain't democracy great?
Gov. Palin has massive support.
Less widely reported is the same regarding Romney.
Hence, RomneyBOT attacks on anyone demanding BHO's bc.
Gingrich is also the same imbecile who referred to Rush and other Conservatives as “irrational” for wanting Obama’s destructive policies to fail.
That’s true. That’s also irrelevant, unless some court agrees that that means he is not a natural born citizen. That just isn’t going to happen.
You’re still trying to flog that one? Persons born outside the United States to two US citizen parents have always been citizens of the United States at birth. That has been the case going back to the Naturalization Act of 1790.
Both Mitt Romney’s parents were citizens from the time they were born. Mitt Romney is a natural born citizen even under the Vattel standard you guys are pushing, let alone the actual natural born citizen standard that any American court would apply.
No. Romney is not a natural born citizen and is not eligible.
His imposition of RomneyCARE and the rest makes him unqualified.
His attacks on Gov. Palin show him to be a poor loser and
coward.
Why do you like him?
I don’t like Romney. I think he’s a typical spineless politician and his championing of RomneyCare by itself is enough for me never to vote for him.
That has nothing at all to do with whether or not he his constitutionally qualified to be President, which he is. The fact that you won’t give any incoherent explanation as to why you think he isn’t suggests to me that you have no idea what you are talking about.
Romney is also not qualified.
Example 1:
"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

Your accusations are a poor substitute for accuracy.
Romney is not eligible since he is not a natural borne
US citizen (like Obama).
