It is no secret that the Obamas are advocates for free handouts, but even in her personal life Michelle Obama does not appear to have shied away from accepting free goodies. Numerous news outlets have reported on the first ladys proclivity for high fashion. And Mrs. Obamas pricey tastes have not precluded her ability to wear the outfits over which many women drool.
Rumors abound as to exactly how the first family obtains all the pomp and frills associated with Mrs. Obamas wardrobe. Do the Obamas pay for it all themselves or are the first ladys outfits given to her gratis? As with most things, it appears the answer lies somewhere in the middle.
Ikram Goldman, owner of the Chicago boutique Ikram, manages the majority of the first ladys sartorial needs. Any designer wishing to dress Mrs. Obama must first go through Goldman, who remains exceedingly tight-lipped as to her dealings with the first lady. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Goldman donated $6,900 to Barack Obamas 2008 presidential campaign, yet it is unclear whether Mrs. Obama pays for her services.
True to form, Goldman has yet to respond to any of The Daily Callers myriad attempts to contact her.

oh wow!
Thanks Tax-Chick.
Once again - FReepers doing the work the MSM refuses to do.
And no - whatever this woman “advised” - I would run in fear.
Anyway, there is not one item Michelle has worn that I would wear, let alone "drool" over." She has no taste, most of her clothes are too tight or too small, and she is openly vulgar about exposing things most women would die having someone see...ie, pantie lines, camel toe, bra straps, wrinkled clothes, pouchy stomach, etc.
I know she can't help that she is shaped very pecularly, but she could cover herself better and give the world a break. Additionally, her poor posture and gigantic strides, and sitting with her legs apart make her look very unfeminine, unladylike, and undignified. She has lowered the bar - immensely - when it comes to fashion and looking respectable. Any woman in a position of importance working in an office would be admonished for dressing as Michelle does. She does not inspire confidence or respect when she so willingly chooses to dress like a bag lady.
You’re welcome. When I see a woman who looks good, I’ll ask where her clothes come from, or where she got her hair done. When I see someone wearing a Hallowe’en costume for every day, I try not to laugh in her face.
It really makes me wonder about Michelle Obama. Does she not have a mirror, or can she just not see how awful she looks in it? Do people like this hideous Goldman tell her she looks great, and she’s too confused to realize it’s not true? Does Barack make her dress like an idiot so that she doesn’t look prettier than he does?
I could see her being dressed inappropriately (as she often is) to make a Statement to the world, but why look ugly or stupid when she doesn’t have to? There are attractive, inappropriate outfits availalble.
The only time she must have really taken advice well - and looked very beautiful was that state dinner with the leaders of India.
Whoever dressed her that day really needs to get the full time job.
Other than that - she seems to be stuck on stupid - and boob belts.

"OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!!"
...but they have done nothing to improve her angry, defensive, greedy and covetous attitude, which shows through anything she wears. She might as well dress from Walmart.
My favorite Michelle fashion faux pas was her address to the NAACP, to which she wore a dress that was brown on top with white dots, and white on the bottom with brown dots. It doesn't take a Doctor Freud to unpack that one...
ROFLOL!!! Post of the day!
Actually, that horrendous get-up was what she wore to meet Pope Benedict.
A bit under the weather this past week & what fun to come here & see the humor.. sad but true humor of the female clown in the White House & the clown designer who helps her with “her look”
Thanks for thread & pings. (and all the laughs with your pix & comments)
She wore THAT to ‘observe’ the oil spill? Sure seems like a ‘poke in the eye’ to me!
Rumor had it that her father-in-law had paid her off to stay married to Jack in spite of his many affairs so that he would remain electable to the presidency.
(I should explain that in the ancient early 1960s, American voters -- in those days they were citizens -- still set a high value on marriage and monogamy.)
There are plenty of nice, attractive, flattering modest black dresses, even for tall and somewhat ungainly ladies. A girl in my high school class was the image of her daddy, who was a BIG ol' boy, played football for Georgia. She was always dressed like a lady, in fact because she was such a big girl she made a special effort to look nice.
Did big MO spill a urine specimen on her dress?
Good observation. In this thread so far, we have discussed her wearing black blotches on white to the oil spill, brown dots on white/white dots on brown to the NAACP convention, and now, pee stains on white to a hospital named for our first (dead white male) president.
Perhaps it's a new category of dressing: Subliminal Messaging Disguised as Wardrobe. Is there an Alinsky chapter on that? Or maybe it's just Unconscious Hostility as Fashion. You make the call.
As for Ikram Goldman, who is Israeli, perhaps we should thank her for standing athwart the possibility that Israel might otherwise have been thrown under the bomb by now.
ROFLOL! -- OMG, the secret is out! We ARE aliens!
Damn, you're good!
(This is one of the best fashionista threads in weeks!)
Ping to post 155.
Oh, that’s right. One of Michelle’s “dressmakers.” Thanks for the correction. Pinto needs all the credit, LOL
