Barry ain't no Lincoln. Consequences mean nothing to him. He wouldn't worry about needing a civil war, he might try it just because he gets an abusive email.
But consider this: how do the Feds have the ability to cancel elections, which are managed by the states? What are they going to do, refuse to seat the newly elected Congress in January? I wish 'em rotsa ruck with that. (Well, actually not, but I wish they would try. They wouldn't dare.)
There was a thread that noted the Dems are attempting to take over all the States’ Attorneys General positions - which is where election power resides.
Clever and diabolical!!!
“Barry ain’t no Lincoln.”
Barry will split us down the middle, precipitate a civil war and sure as shite...he is happy to suspend the Constitution and command States to suspend their right of self determination and freedom to pass laws and govern according to their own laws, right or wrong. And he will do it in the name of preserving the right of all persons to “share the wealth” whether they have earned it or not.
The feds have NO ability to cancel elections.
I suspect even the dim bulb BHO knows this.
The SCOTUS will end up administering the oath to those red state peeps so they can take their seats.
That’s why I find the FReeper threads about cancelling the elections so laughable.
No president, not even the idiot in chief, can get away with it.
Little bammy is actually the opposite of Lincoln and after the mid-term elections he just might do something breathtakingly stupid as he is an arrogant, ignorant fool .
The level of arrogance by dee-cee is far above what the issues were 149 years ago and the issues are eerily similar. States Rights with, among other things, an underlining current of slavery manifesting its current form as the illegal alien.
Just think slavery = cheap labor (illegal aliens) and everything falls into place.
Bear in mind the incoming government at the time was Republican (Lincoln) and the incumbent (Buchanan) currently in place was Democrat.
The north at the time was of a general anti-slavery sentiment and with the pro-slavery Dred Scott Case giving the green light to slavery in the Territories a major rift in Buchanans (D) Presidency occurred. This paved the road for Lincoln (R) in the 1860 election as he was anti- slavery = no cheap labor (no illegal aliens)
Abraham Lincoln, had campaigned against the expansion of slavery cheap labor (illegal aliens). The Republican victory in that election resulted in seven Southern states pro- slavery = cheap labor (illegal aliens) declaring their secession from the Union even before Lincoln took office thus kicking off the Civil War.
So, who today wants to keep the illegal aliens here? Think amnesty. Think Democrat.
Who wants to get rid of the illegal aliens? Think deportation. Since the 1840s Lincoln had been an advocate of the American Colonization Society program of colonizing blacks in Liberia, Africa, where they could actually be free. Think Republican.
"My first impulse would be to free all the slaves, and send them to Liberia, to their own native land. But a moments reflection would convince me that whatever of high hope (as I think there is) there may be in this, in the long run, its sudden execution is impossible." Lincoln, October 16, 1854: a speech at Peoria, Illinois.
So, there it is. The stage is set with an incumbent President that is an arrogant, ignorant fool that probably will, once cornered by loss of power after the mid-term elections, push the anti-amnesty / pro-deportation States to make a decision because of yet another incredibly stupid act in his long chain of incredibly stupid acts and efforts.
At that point the fed.gov can issue executive orders and pass emergency acts all they like.
No one will be listening or care.
