First Lady Michelle Obama brought renewed energy to the NAACP today, delivering the keynote speech at the annual convention one day before the nation's largest civil rights group is expected to condemn what it calls racist elements in the Tea Party movement.
The nation's largest and oldest civil rights organization will vote on the resolution Tuesday during its annual convention in Kansas City, Mo.
In her speech, the first lady focused on the issue of childhood obesity and her "Let's Move" initiative, but outside of her remarks, anti-Tea Party activism has been a key focus of the gathering, which conservative leaders say is driven solely by a political agenda.
Tea Party members have used "racial epithets," have verbally abused black members of Congress and threatened them, and protestors have engaged in "explicitly racist behavior" and "displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically," according to the proposed resolution.

Michelle Obama knows all there is to know about racism...since
she is a prime example of one! Geez...the arrogance just
takes my breath away!
"First Lady Michelle Obama brought renewed energy to the NAACP Tea Party/America today".
Fixed it.
think if we put on black face....we’ll get away with it? We are ONLY trying to be LIKE them!
There were no "racial epithets." There have been no racist signs.
These people are all filthy liars..........including the person pretending to be first lady.
I don’t speak jive. We’ll probably get busted when we take the kids down to the hood for ice cream.
Remember, Michelle is one of these people for whom all white folks are the same old same old ~ she doesn't discriminate. In her world, if you're not black, step back!
Michelle had her husband get rid of the special tuition DC provided folks to get their kids out of failing schools. That way she eliminated the possibility that her daughters would encounter any poor “Negroes” at Sidwell Friends.
On the one hand I see this as the administration endorsing the NAACP’s position that the Tea Party is fundamentally racist. Everyone knows about the vote later in the week and knows what the outcome will be, so by sending Michelle to speak, Obama has put his stamp of approval on it.
On the other hand, I’m guessing it’s traditional for Democrat presidents or first ladies to speak at this convention, so maybe it’s not so meaningful in itself (in fact didn’t the NAACP invite Bush to speak at one of their conventions?).
If people hate Obama, it’s because of his color....RED!
Ordinary Americans take to the streets because they don’t want their country turned into a communist hellhole, and these morons in Kansas City call it racism. They’re stuck on stupid.
Ginning up racism with lies.!
A general statement, totally unsupported by any empirical evidence: Have you noticed how photos of freepers and tea party members, and conservatives as a whole, for that matter, look a lot like normal people, people you see on the street, in stores and church, etc., while photos of Democrats look like characters you see at a Halloween costume party?
In that photo you posted, check out Bigfoot’s dresser in that black outfit. She looks like she might be a troll who lives under a bridge.
NAACP supports Barry about 100%.. so much for their honesty..
Could be why Barry calls himself black and not white..
When he is neither.. BUT enjoys PimPing blackness..
YES, I know....I’m looking for a way to do radio ads that educate Americans.....going to start something....got to....
Even though those same Democrat Congressmen had video cameras in tow, not one of them has stepped forward to collect that reward. Not one.
This is a move of desperation. Very sophomoric, stupid, pathetic.
They should be ashamed but they are too dumb.
