There are also many more junk foods available today, and more fast food/junk food places.

True, there was very little junk food when I was growing up. I never even saw a pizza until I was in Navy boot camp. Up until then it was a word I heard on TV.

"There are also many more junk foods available today, and more fast food/junk food places."I remember lots of junk food and fast food places (born in 70). However; we were ALWAYS told no....and we never had our "own" money to buy it either. There was no such thing as "allowance". Whatever we received was purchased by the parent/guardian and given to us.
And that was not very often!
