The Senate Judiciary Committee is taking up the nomination of Elena Kagan to be Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Judiciary Committee members and Elena Kagan are making opening statements and will move to the question and answer session beginning Tuesday. She will be introduced by Massachusetts Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Scott Brown (R-MA).
The committee plans four days of hearings with the questioning of the nominee Tuesday and Wednesday and outside witnesses on Thursday. If confirmed, Elena Kagan will replace retiring Justice John Paul Stevens on the Court.
All Franken has done is complain about Robert’s court.
Can someone tell me what qualifies Franken to sit on this committee?
Ugh. Kerry just gave Kagan a big kiss. I think he whispered:
“Did you know I was a decorated Vietnam veteran?”
You all should know that we just were told that Senator Kerry is a decorated Vietnam War veteran!
Skerry is up and we are reminded he is a decorated Viet Nam Vet!
How long are we going to be forced to listen to Ted Kennedy stories?
Enough already.
What happened to that dark orange suntan he had during his campaign, LOL!
“Lindsay made me want to puke.”
Gay Lindsay must protect fellow Lesbo Kagan...
If I was that partner and Elena Kagan asked me what I did ‘with all that money” I would have told her it’s none of her damn business.
He’s a revolting little POS.
Franken in his twisted logic , said that the seat belt law for passenger vehicles would not have passed today as it did in the 1960s, if the capitalistic pig auto industries could have lobbied against it with advertisement...alluding to television advertisement. Franken doesn't like free speech.
That thing is actually helping choose our Supreme Court Justices. Anyone that thinks this country isn’t effed up is blind.
Did she make a face like this?
I don’t know how much of this I’m going to be able to take. Who is that smirking schmoe sitting next to Kagan. Anybody know?
Phew. Thank God, Kerry’s winding it up.
I’m sorry, but anyone who can praise both Breyer and Scalia has NO judicial temperament.
Hah!
Is it my imagination or is Kagan staring daggers at Scott Brown’s back?
Fascinating ... he didn't seem to mind TV advertising so much when it kept a roof over his head, food in his stomach.
He's a Stuart Smally fan. Maybe I can get him to watch these procedings.... listen to the dem talking points...evil corporations...make a difference...or not.
She almost looks like she wants to throw up on Senator Brown. What a face!
