A Mexican immigrant walking home from work was savagely beaten on Staten Island in a hate crime, cops said yesterday.
Alejandro Galindo, 52, was on Forest and Jewett avenues in Elm Park around 12:10 a.m. Thursday when he was approached by three unidentified African-American men who started shouting anti-Mexican slurs, law enforcement officials said.
The thugs started attacking Galindo, who managed to escape.

One would think welfare recipients would appreciate others that work and pay taxes to support those that don’t.
Similar incidents of violence occurred where the perps were White and not on welfare.
Poverty may cause frustration and contempt, but I’m not sure it’s the only catalyst for hate.

Hate crime? So blacks ARE capable of hate crimes, but apparently NOT against whites, just Mexicans.
Certainly not against Koreans either, but I wonder, where do Arabs fit in?

Not all Mexicans work more than all of any group works...but the majority of the attacks I’ve read about lately were on Latin American busboys or hotel employees heading home after the late-night shift. They were not only employed, but they seem to have been legal residents and in at least one case one had been at his job long enough to make it to assistant manager. In virtually all cases, the attackers were black thugs. No employment was mentioned, so I assume they didn’t have jobs, other than drug dealing and petty crime.
The Latin Americans just happened to be out late, are generally physically small and not particularly violent, and were easy targets.
Well, actually, there was a recent one where two of the attackers were white thugs. But I don’t think that’s anything to boast about.
Gangs hat other gangs, period.
Where do you live? All the Mexicans around me here in Florida work, and that’s why they come here. We need more workers and fewer non-workers in this country.
The reason they can get jobs is that other low-skill immigrant groups, such as Arabs and Africans, come here and go directly on welfare thanks to the fact that they are brought by agencies and the US government for “family reunification” and other bogus reasons. Working is not part of their plan.
Our natives are also happily hanging off the government teat. The entire city of Jacksonville is one festering swamp of 7th generation welfare recipients (mostly black, but with some whites in the more rural areas of the county).
Obama still enjoys a 91% approval among black Americans even though, along with the rest of us and propably worse, their lifestyle prospects are getting more dismal by the day.

I’m impressed by the guys who start out as busboys and in no time are working in the dining room, speaking excellent English, and explaining to you in detail the complexities of the various wines on a rather lengthy list. God bless those guys!

I have no reason to disbelieve the racial makeup of the attacks, but of course if Blacks are primarily the perps that doesn’t make the initial premise true: “Blacks hate Mexicans because Mexicans actually work.”
It’s ironic that many who come here illegally from Mexico are hard working, and many that are children of US citizens are looking for handouts (or the union job that provides retirement at 45 and ridiculously phat pensions).
Maybe the perps should be sent South for justice.

As a person with Italian parents I find this remark extremely offensive.

Not quite. Voted for LBJ in 1964, Clinton in 1996, and Al Gore in 2000. Voted 44% for Obama in 2008. Has more registered Dems than GOP, largely due to the fact that you are more likely to influence NYC politics in the primaries, rather than in the general. Has a Dem rep in congress, and GOP/"Conservative" Party Borough President Molinaro plays footsie with Schumer, and endorsed the Dem candidate last time around for congress.
Staten Italy is basically conservative on "lawr and or-dah" issues (more cops per capita live there than any other borough), bussing, and, to a lesser extent, immigration, but tends to be to the left when it comes to reigning in the public employee unions, as so many of its inhabitants are employed by the city, or work as contractors with the city. The political culture is very old world, paternalistic, and slightly inbred.
Do you really think life is that simple? Funny because I know of many Mexicans that do not work, will not work, and live on the welfare teat. I also know Blacks that are hard workers. I suppose it is possible these Blacks were attacking the Mexican because he works but they may have also attacked him because they lost their jobs to illegals- or simply because they wanted to. Stereotypes are funny things.
