PHOENIX Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said Friday most illegal immigrants entering Arizona are being used to transport drugs across the border. Brewer said the motivation of "a lot" of the illegal immigrants is to enter the United States to look for work, but that drug rings press them into duty as drug "mules."
"I believe today, under the circumstances that we're facing, that the majority of the illegal trespassers that are coming into the state of Arizona are under the direction and control of organized drug cartels and they are bringing drugs in," Brewer said.
"There's strong information to us that they come as illegal people wanting to come to work. Then they are accosted and they become subjects of the drug cartel," she said.
Brewer spoke Friday when asked about comments she made in a recent election debate among Republican candidates for governor.

It will probably get changed at least once or twice before nightfall.. or sooner. :-)..
BUILD THE FENCE! YOU STUPID FEDS, BUILD THE FENCE!
Most of the comments there are roasting her. That lets me know who the paper’s readers are. With the chaos in Northern Mezzico, I wouldn’t be surprised if many border crossers are being “accosted” and forced to bring drugs into the U.S.
Well, it IS Yahoo!, right? I believe named after a type of customer...
There's only one appropriate response, governor Brewer - the middle finger to AP.
Oh yeah,, no surprise if they’re being forced at gunpoint to carry all that stuff across the border.
The War on NarcoTerror in NA has just begun, unfortunately.
now now,, yahoo titling of links and ap wire stuff are separate entities, let’s be fair here.. and Yes, I do YaHoooeee. but have never caught the big fish. or any for that matter. :-)
I’ve seen yahoo sexed up titles over the linked to ap piece for a long time.. yaknow they are now running their own separate news operation for the last few months.. lots of money in news and info these days, not so much in analysis like here. :-)
The race card will be played in 5. . .4 . . .3. . .2. . .1
OK so we have drug importation piggy-backing on an existing migrant infrastructure that is getting more efficient all the time. That’s nasty, but that’s logical.
Question:
Why would this infrastructure not ALSO serve the interests of smuggling of small arms...?
More darkly:
Why would it not also serve the smuggling of....large arms?
I worked with Juvenile Courts/ the police department 20 years ago in eastern Washington. The Chief of Police told me exactly the same thing then — the drug runners nab illegals crossing the border, threaten them and then make them carry the drugs to a drop-off place. They were coming all the way to eastern WA from the southern border. Then.
Yes and the current administration wants this to continue - as long as they wind up voting democrat - they don’t care what this does to us.
The OBama astro turf smear poster machine was never dismantled just given a new assignment after healthcare was illegally rammned thru.
Brewer is right. I’m happy Russ Pearce and the AZ legislature pushed her into being a real conservative.
Must see/SHARE video. On every photo you see of the garbage filled border area of Arizona are thousands of empty backpacks. They point out they are empty because they dope is delivered. Don’t need the pack anymore! MOST illegal aliens are carrying something illegal or dangerous into this country. YES, even the ‘hard working’ ones.
Note the line of smugglers passing the water jug....how many communicable diseases got shared/brought in by that group?
I see today in the news whooping cough has made a big come back!
