The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.
The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, who was one of the most vocal advocates of the dredging plan, has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, pleading for the work to continue.

...which is why we ought to be praying more than ever for this nation!
Dredge it anyway.
Some of you just don't get it, do you??
Obama was put in place by the left and the muslims. His job is to destroy America, and a fine job he's doing of it too.
In war language, this is called a "decapitation strike". The US tried that at least twice against Saddam (that other Hussein), and bragged of having succeeded. Not that simple.
But the arabs/muslims/lefties, now they succeeded just fine.
Or a Macaca moment.
Hold up border security until Amnesty is passed...
Hold up work on cleaning up the oil spill until Cap and Trade is passed...
Shakedown BP for $20 billion and subverting the rule of law...
This is who we have as president.
More from the in-your-face, what you people think doesn’t matter administration. Somebody is going to end up hurt over this crap. That’s all I can say.....
My God...
Seriously. Screw “pleading.” Put the Lousiana State Police, the Louisiana ARNG, and any able-bodied citizen who wants to help out there and tell the Feds to go fornicate themselves. Obama has NO interest in helping your state, Governor Jindal. It’s on you to stand up.

punishment for going to court and getting oil ban lifted.
“With 30% of domestic oil, it wouldnt take long for the message to get through.”
Interesting facts:
Totl number of barrels of oil produced by LA in 2009: 48,164,979. Not including this new and very significant find.
Royalties charged to oil companies: somewhere between 12.5 and 16.7 percent.
Current price of a barrel of oil: $77.63
Doing the math, based on the current price of oil total oil royalties are worth between $467 million and $624 million per year. Again, not including this new and very significant find.

Let them keep on dredging and then watch the showdown between Jindal and the boy-child.
Guess who will blink first.
Not Jindal.
News reports say a massive oil strip hit Pensacola Beach overnight. Imagine how different it might be if we had a fleet of Japanese or Dutch skimmers to stop that from happening. It is seriously time to start disobeying the criminal dictates of this SOBPO(TU)S.
If he does that, I'll move him to the top of my Presidential picks.
Agree. Dare the feds to physically stop the work.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid defended the halt... saying, "We need that sand for the sand traps where the President plays golf to relax."
Film... at 11!
I sad that in late 2008 & folks around here poo-pooed me.
