PHOENIX Governor Jan Brewer said she was stunned and angered to learn during an Ecuadorean television interview with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the Obama Administration had decided to sue Arizona over its recently passed anti-illegal immigration law, SB1070.
Video of the interview can be seen at Governor Brewers Arizona Border Security Information website: www.azgovernor.gov/AZBorderSecurity.asp Secretary Clinton announced during the interview on June 8th that President Obama has directed the U.S. Justice Department to bring a lawsuit against the Arizona law.
This is no way to treat the people of Arizona, said Governor Brewer. To learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the Secretary of State is just outrageous. If our own government intends to sue our state to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation.
Governor Brewer said, I just visited with the President in the Oval Office about our differences over immigration policy, and the one firm understanding we had was that within two weeks he would provide details of his commitment to deploy National Guard troops to the border. While I am grateful that communications have taken place about a possible visit by Administration staff before the end of the month, there is not yet a confirmed date. More importantly, no information about additional troop and border security enhancements has been provided by the Obama Administration to the citizens of Arizona.
Governor Brewer recently announced the creation of a legal defense fund for private contributions in defense of Arizonas illegal immigration enforcement measures www.keepazsafe.com.
Over $22,000 in contributions have been made to the border legal defense fund since its announcement yesterday evening. Over $26,000 had previously been sent unsolicited to the Governor for legal defense of Arizona, for an approximate total of $48,000 in the fund.
“There will not be elections in Nov. There will be some emergency that will necessitate martial law.”
So we finally see king obuma march out his fearsome Fat Welfare Momma Division to block the doors at 10,000 schools and city halls. What if they’re busy eating chips, sucking down 2 liter Cokes and watching soap operas?
“That is absurd. On foreign and domestic policy, he is a polar opposite”
Similarities include stimulus bills, TARP, and bank bailouts. The Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac bailout occurred on Bush’s watch. Obama continues to prosecute the war despite running on a platform against it. Likewise his threats to close down Gitmo proved to be hot air. This is a discussion that merits its own thread.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, but everybody pays to get rid of the garbage.
I’ll go. I’m guessing they’ll be stopping out of state cars heading that way though.
Nah, a lot of the thread are brighter than you are.
It was Bush’s second term that pretty much guaranteed Obama’s first... oh, and the loss of the house and senate.
So who’s side are those Federal troops going to be on?
You make no sense. You speak no truth. And yet you mock.
Shame on you.
Thanks, Luvya!
They are to be pitied.
I too miss President Bush every single day, as a patriot and a conservative. We have lost SO much.
Will do!
George Bush did nothing of the sort. The last decent Republican President left office in January of 2009, and in time he will be respected as he should be. It’s already happening for most people. I feel sorry for the rest.
My husband and I just had that conversation at dinner tonight. As horrible as I thought he would be, incompetant, arrogant and a Marxist ideologue, I never dreamed he would be demonic and deliberately create chaos and seek the overt destruction of America in less than two years.
It's like he's hitting us with sucker punches every day, day after day, month after month.
I'm reeling from the horror of what this dictator wannabe is doing to the country I love so dearly.
"Its strange, I always thought Texas would lead the charge against the federal government."
We have a RINO as a Governor - Rick Perry.
Better yet, RP is the epitome of a "Company Man."
ICE bragged about picking up 2200 ILLEGALS in a 12 month investigation.
As I stated before, I will be more than happy to show ICE where the illegals live/work/go to school/go to PARkLAND, etc., etc.
It is sick and frustrating!
I thought, too, that Texas would start the illegal exodus...
What a chump I was in my assumption!
Rick Perry, well, is not a true Texan.
He is just another slick "Company Man."
He’s the Aminal Bush handed us. An Anti American Globalist. That nasty W was a nice, good, Pro American, Patriotic HUGE government Globalist. Satan plays both sides against each other. Those of us with a brain see what the Bushes did to us. (you realize that your screen name must be changed at some point as you begin to understand the stark truths of Globalism). Cheers! :)
my post was not meant to denigrate Reagan, but rather point out that attacking Bush43 on immigration is meaningless unless one views his stance in relation to Reagan. If you are not ready to attack Reagan then attacking Bush43 on immigration seems hypocritical.

Agreed (see post 175)
You need a %$#@ing education. Bush loves this country in as much as he wanted open borders, and an American led global world order. Wake up. If you want to play conservative, change your Bush loving RINO screen name. Thanks.
The cypher in the White House needs to take care of the problem in the Gulf of Mexico instead of wasting energy suing Arizona, which is just trying to defend itself from an alien invasion.
