Tonight, we pray for that courage. We pray for the people of the Gulf. And we pray that a hand may guide us through the storm towards a brighter day. Thank you, God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.

Oh, you beat me by more than a minute. If I hadn’t wasted so much time laughing...
“You know what he meant.”
Of course we do. He’s refering to his own hand of course!
>>Thats just dumb. You know what he meant.<<
What did he mean?
Seriously, if you want to avoid references to God, ya don’t say God.
How much clearer can it be?
well, he IS the one we have been waiting for.
I bet it just kills him to use the word God, instead of Allah, but he knows he has to.
Ooo, Obama said “hand.” Revelations says something about hands. Clearly, only one conclusion can be made from this...
He's probably doing with that hand, what he's doing to the rest of the country.
He's icky!
“He’s probably doing with that hand, what he’s doing to the rest of the country.”
I wish! I’d rather be jerked around than getting screwed over. (Can I say that on the internet?)
Wouldn’t it be 100% more reasonable to assume he avoided saying God’s name because he wanted to be POLITICALLY CORRECT? Just another thought. I really need to stop having those before I get myself in trouble.
You just did.
Times are tough. There are difficult months ahead,” Obama said in the weekly Democratic Radio Address, released two days early in time for the holiday. “But we can renew our nation the same way that we have in the many years since Lincoln’s first Thanksgiving: by coming together to overcome adversity; by reaching for - and working for - new horizons of opportunity for all Americans. So this weekend - with one heart, and one voice, the American people can give thanks that a new and brighter day is yet to come.”

Barack Obama’s Remarks to the Democratic National Convention
America! Tonight, if you feel the same energy that I do, if you feel the same urgency that I do, if you feel the same passion I do, if you feel the same hopefulness that I do if we do what we must do, then I have no doubts that all across the country, from Florida to Oregon, from Washington to Maine, the people will rise up in November, and John Kerry will be sworn in as president, and John Edwards will be sworn in as vice president, and this country will reclaim its promise, and out of this long political darkness a brighter day will come.
