Wrong. These people (for the most part) don’t want BENEFITS they want SALARIES, WAGES, INCOME! WORTH, WEALTH!
These guys and gals have worked their asses off for 40 years and the last thing they want is to be “bridged” to a paltry retirement and cast off as “excess resources!”

...and I talked to a BIG employer tonight, and told him that if I had a job applicant come in and I saw a two year gap in employment, I would show him the door. If a guy came in as an engineer, who worked the last six months at Price Chopper, I would hire him on the spot.

You are so right, there is corruption all over. That is why the Constitution was written the way it was, to prevent corruption from tainting our government, but the enforcement by the Judiciary was not strong enough. My prayers for you and your family are being sent now. Bless you.

No, the problem is that you have to tax businesses for this unemployment extension...yeah, the very same businesses that are expected to HIRE? Not going to happen if this bill in any form passes. Why would they hire for x amount per year only to have twice that taxed on them by the govt? They’ll just take their company overseas (if they can).

Tell me about it. I used to work for subsidized housing (dark days) and I saw 4 and 5 year old children of color give me hate stares! The same children could recite verse by verse complex raps yet were “unable” to count to 10 or know their alphabet.
It’s all in what you teach children and the brainwashing starts with non-verbal communication by the mother. Not to get off topic but I see the same thing in children whose mothers are trying to alienate the recently divorced dad. Mom is granted primary custody and immediately starts communicating verbally and non-verbally that the children should disrespect/hate their dad, ESPECIALLY if said dad has decided to “move on.” And this is with mom filing for divorce 78% of the time. It comes down to the fact that people of color just want whitey’s wallet the way the divorced mom just wants daddy to be a wallet, shut up and go away.

True, MOST people want jobs,wages, benefits. But if there is no jobs , still need a roof over their heads and food on the table. As far as I’m concerned the economic mess we’re in was cause by the government. It may take years to recover from the damage caused by obama, why should the people pay for the damage caused by obama and congress.
No, it is just getting closer to November, that’s all.
The REAL truth is that as people go beyond the 99, they drop off the unemployment reports. They are STILL unemployed. The record simply does not reflect it in unemployment figures. But, it does show up with the IRS, and when there are no Tax dollars coming in for each of those individuals, the problems will worsen. In the Post Depression days of American History, the goal was to put people back to work, and in doing so, have funds coming into the treasury for taxes, which stimulated growth. This presidents idea of employment is to hire 415,000 census takers, which is a TEMPORARY job, and claim a decrease in unemployment.
I still want Obama to tell Congress "Hey, you guys are hosed already...the people are going to throw you out like yesterdays newspaper....so you might as well vote for my socialist agenda and go down swinging!!"
I think that’s exactly what they will do.
