Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, who will develop a long-term plan for the restoration of the states affected by the massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico, is a former governor of Mississippi whom the White House has called a proven leader.
The 61-year-old Mabus was selected by President Obama on Tuesday to help draw up the government's plan for recovery efforts in conjunction with officials in the Gulf Coast states.

Error! Error!
The Obamaloon criteria for selection into the cabinet-O-idiots is 1) no business experience, 2) no leadership experience, 3) flunked high school math, and 4) has obtained marshmallow degrees in nothingness from formerly respected ivy league schools.
Bonus points for previous felonies, bankruptcies, and tax evasions.
Maybe this is the job he offerred to Joe Sestak.
You’ve gotta feel sorry for Mabus, the poor b@st@rd - he’s gotta see the bus heading his way -
"Obama, bedeviled by oil spill, puts Nostradamus AntiChrist, Mabus, in charge of Clean-up"
We also need another commission of experts. A blue ribbon panel... that’s the ticket. /s
Nostradamus alert. ;)
This guy’s name has always bothered me for that very reason :-)
Oil spill in Gulf, Gulf is kind of like ocean, who is in charge of ocean?OK, let me try again. Gulf is water, big water means ocean, ocean is like sea, boats float in sea, boats mean what?
OK...let me try again, boats float in sea (which is big water), big water mean big boat...EUREKA!!!
Navy have big boats...who run Navy (other than me, of course)?
John McCain!!!
No...that not right.:-(
Rahm, who run Navy?
Mabus?
Get Mabus to plug hole!
Whew, problem solved...Rahm, what club I need for chip shot out of sand pit?
Why wasn’t somebody on the job about six weeks ago?
It is not yet too late to turn this around, there is just no gumption to make the right choices.
Eventually, the bacterial populations that convert the raw crude petroleum into methane and carbon dioxide will clean up the tar balls and sludge that is now gathering on beaches and coastal estuaries, and the plant growth that survives will be thus enriched. But in truth, the oil should never have been allowed to get that far. There are petroleum reclamation crews all over the world that have have a high degree of expertise in recovering oil spills, yet their calls with offers of help were spurned by the “too-cool” current occupant of the Oval Office. After all, they were not manned by members of workers’ unions that made large contributions to the eternal campaign that is the Democrat party.
And that would be soooo wrong.
What is the acronym - NIH - “not invented here”?
This crew in the White House now couldn’t invent their way out of a paper bag. Much less find their own butts with both hands.
I think the president’s decision about Mr. Mabus is Obamalicious!
Duh.
Had too post that..lol
Naval battle night will be overcome, Fire in the ships to the West ruin: New trick, the great ship colored, Anger to the vanquished, and victory in a drizzle. Century IX, Quatrain 100
Let's put a Carrier Battle Group in the Gulf as a symbol of the "War on the Oil Spill."
In August 2007, he joined the board of Enersys, the world's largest manufacturer, marketer and distributor of industrial batteries. From 2006-April 2007, he was Chairman and CEO of Foamex International and helped lead it out of bankruptcy.[citation needed] Less than nine months after his appointment, Foamex emerged from Chapter 11, paid every qualified creditor 100 cents on the dollar, plus interest, and preserved equity.[18][verification needed]
I guess the message finally got through to Obama.
“It’s the clean up, Stupid!”
This is not the sailor in the Village People, is it?
Nice picture of the most corrupt US government leadership ever
didn’t we impeach Nixon for assigning staff to plug leaks?
