Eight weeks into the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of the Mexico, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has told the National Guard that there's no time left to wait for BP, so they're taking matters into their own hands.

In Fort Jackson, La., Jindal has ordered the Guard to start building barrier walls right in the middle of the ocean. The barriers, built nine miles off shore, are intended to keep the oil from reaching the coast by filling the gaps between barrier islands.

You go Gov.!

Actually, you shouldn’t have waited this long. But, better late than never.

My money is on that piece of dog squeeze in the white house tries to stop it on the basis of lack of study on the environmental impact!

Time to tell Washedupington to stick it way up the wazoo!

Prayers are with you all down there. May He guide you and protect you.

Read BP offered to pay for the berms a long time ago. EPA dithered over ‘impact’ issues. [Insert thumb, rotate]

Methinks the only reason 0bama is refusing to help Louisiana is because Governor Jindal is a Republican.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Of course.
Don’t forget “W” didn’t care about LA during Katrina because NO is a ‘black’ city and had a D Governor.
This is just a payback... yannynanny nana...

Maybe OB will hold his breath till he turns red...just like the spoiled brat that he is.

"Exactly what are we getting for our federal taxes?"

We have a President and a Congress who want take those taxes and transform our country. Everything else is subordinate. Jobs, wildlife, the environment, oil spills - they are all expendable to the transformation of the country.

Did you see dear reader eating a SNOW CONE on the beach?

No, thank goodness I missed that - but I heard him say he 'had seafood from the gulf and it was good' - in this real dorky voice - what a tool he is....

Apparently, one salient difference between republicans and democrats, is that republicans act, democrats just talk about how they would have acted, if they'd only had the courage, and then they lie about it in a pathetic attempt to hide how incapable they are.

I like how ABC News spins the story. In reality Bobby was tired of waiting on that dumb a$$ in the White House to act through exectutive orders to cut the red tape and get things done.

Dick Morris mentioned this tonight. He said BP offered to build the sand barriers but that Obama said no because of the union dredgers (who don't have the capacity to do it anyways).

Obama tried to tie the hands of the Gulf governors to act on protecting beaches from the oil by envoking federal jurisdiction over the waters.

Glad Jindal finally told BP and Obama (there is no difference politically) to go to hell and stay there.

This is really a matter of FEDERAL JURISDICTION, but the damn MSM and the stupid, moronic public that comprises the Idiocracy doesn’t care.

I just think think it is humorous how on this thread people are giving some credit to Jindal and we just can’t have that.

No they only offered to pay for one, then some haggling brought the number up to 6 when we asked for 24.
