One of the daughters of former President George W. Bush isn't following the Republican Party line when it comes to the issue of the health care legislation that cleared Congress last spring without any GOP support.
In an interview on Fox News Sunday, Barbara Bush said she's "glad" Democrats passed the massive spending measure and President Barack Obama signed it into law.
"Why do, basically, people with money have good health care and why do people who live on lower salaries not have good health care?" the 28-year old said.
"Health should be a right for everyone." Asked specifically what she though about the president's health care initiative, Bush replied with a smile, "That is a good question - obviously the health care reform bill was highly debated by a lot of people and I guess I'm glad the bill was passed."

“It does honestly say something about her parents.”
No it doesn’t. My kids are the same - but I’m starting to sense a shift as they get older. It’s going to take a while though.
From our elite universities!
are you kidding? OUR kids in their twenties should have been raised properly by US, and taught to think for themselves so as to avoid brainwashing! i have 3 kids- 21, 19 and 16. They can detect a liberal professor/teacher within one class period and can argue their conservative points of view effectivly in papers and in clas. To say that there is NO HOPE for OUR KIDS in their twenties is to abdicate OUR responsibility and i can’t believe a conservative would say/do such a thing.
I saw the Barbara Bush interview and she is her mother’s daughter. Laura Bush couldn’t wait to get out there and let everyone know where she disagreed with W on politics and i think a whole lot less of her because of it.
Good grief!!!! I wish these Bush people would just go the hell away!
Those born with a silver spoon in their mouths tend to care less what other have in their mouths, if anything.
Why? The Bush family absolutely stinks. Every last one of them.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree ...
I’m talking about Patti and Ron..Not, Maureen and Michael.
You will get no argument out of me on that one. I don’t ever want to see or hear from that bunch again. This family is nothing but the Kennedys with morals. They are Northeast elitest snobs who look down on the middle class like the rest of them.
By sticking up for the poor it takes care of their guilt for being rich and living large generation after generation.
ditz is right
Does this woman have a job yet?
I remember the threads over hear as a lurker to this site worshipping that disgusting family and people posting the most sycophatic pictures of them. Awful!
Does anyone realyl believe there is more than 5 degress of difference between clinton bush obama anymore?
Please, I’m begging you, please tell me that this dunce hasn’t procreated. I just couldn’t bear the thought!
Good Grief. Shall I list all the stupid things I said and done when I was in my early 20s? I remember after John Lennon was shot vowing to name my first born daughter, Strawberry Fields. How a decade or two of maturity changes ones way of thinking.
Our kids were raised in a very conservative household. One of them remains a conservative while the other has gone over to the other side. FOR NOW. I think he just tries to hold contrarian views because he knows he can get under our skin.
Because if they were honest, they'd be:
1) Ridiculed
2) Ignored
3) Arrested
4) Executed
It's more rewarding pretending to be an angel of light...
Indeed, it seems pretty hopeless. Have you been to a mall bookstore lately? Everything’s about the dead and the undead (vampires, zombies, etc.) Depravity is the rule. And the YA section contains some of the worst.
Gee,what a surprise she supports HusseinCare.She'll never be harmed by it...like we,the great unwashed,will.
The Bush’s are NOT conservative. How much more proof do people need? No more Bushes!
I agree with you. I saw the interview and I believe this is truly her conviction. It began with seeing a poor child in Africa near death. Many times, being a rich kid protects young people from “real world” experiences and leaves them unprepared for what they see. Barbara is an articulate and intelligent young woman, although I think she’s very wrong about health care. She is also a lot more articulate and thoughtful than Megan McCain who just seems to react when asked questions. Children are absolutely not clones of their parents. Mine certainly isn’t. Sometimes I think that’s good, although not always!
