Vic Rawl, who was the presumptive Democratic nominee in South Carolina's U.S. Senate race until his upset loss this week to unemployed military veteran Alvin Greene, is now calling for an investigation into the results.
Rawl, a four-term former lawmaker who was heavily favored to win Tuesday, has accepted the help of a couple of mathematics professors who found some possible anomalies in voting patterns, including Rawl's superior performance among absentee voters compared with Election Day voters. Another expert examined voting machines used in the primary to check for malfunctions or tampering.
"These findings concern the campaign, and should concern all of South Carolina," Rawl said in a press release issued late Friday. "We do not know that anything was done by anyone to tamper with Tuesday's election, or whether there may have been innocuous machine malfunctions, and we are promoting no theories about either possibility."
"However, we do feel that further investigation is warranted," he said.
Greene did not return messages left for him at his home.

At some point in the last couple of weeks, there was some speculation Demint wasn’t all that safe after all. The complaint was supposed to be that he was neglecting South Carolina constituents for national presence. ( I don’t know why Rasmussen had him matched up against this Tennenbaum if Rawls was the Dem favorite)
A couple of confused “rats” running around not paying any attention to the 800 Pound Gorilla in the room named Jim DeMint. Who cares what they think, do, investigate, payoff, bribe or pray to? Amusing if you like watching animal behavior, I suppose.
I love how they have to ignore the elephant (donkey?) in the room.
Alvin Greene is black. Black Democratic voters are more likely to vote for the black candidate if they don’t know much about any of the candidates otherwise, because he’s “their” candidate. It’s simple. If Rawl has lousy name recognition and isn’t well known among black voters, they’re going to vote for Greene. It’s not rocket surgery.
Because of the hotly-contested gubernatorial primary, I really doubt there were a whole lot of Republican crossover votes. Maybe this guy’s a plant? I doubt it, though.

All kidding aside, SC voters must present their voter registration card or a picture ID in order to vote. Most folks just show their drivers license. The voter's name and address are compared with the voter rolls to make sure they are eligible to vote.
Precisely! LOL
Inez Tenenbaum is the two-term Superintendent of Education in SC (which is an elected executive office, SC has more of those than anywhere else in the country). She’s the only Rat that’s been able to hold statewide office during the Republican domination the past eight years, and thus is probably the biggest Democratic “name” in the state who would be considered for higher office.

Thanks, maybe Greene can take her on for Superintendent of Education if he loses the Senate race.
That is very old. IIRC, Tennenbaum ran against Jim the last time. Jim beat her like a dog. She now has some position w/n the nobama regime.
Oh, you’re right, that’s from ‘04.
This was the concern a couple weeks ago, however.
This is all so mind-numbingly stupid.
So the Republicans, who were going to keep this seat in a landslide anyway, tampered to get this guy the nomination... how? How exactly did the Republicans convince 100,000 Democratic primary voters to vote for him when he did exactly zero campaigning?
Even if some Republican put up the filing fee for Greene, there’s no way to steal the nomination for him, short of massive, state-wide ballot tampering. Got any proof of that? I doubt it. And in all of these black precincts? I double doubt it.
And there’s no way that significant numbers of Republicans crossed over to throw the primary to this guy. Republicans didn’t know about Greene any more than the Democrats did, unless again, there was some absolutely ridiculous-in-size state-wide conspiracy going on.
Republicans were all voting in their hot gubernatorial primary. There’s no way in hell a significant number gave that up just to throw a primary that doesn’t need to be thrown.
The obvious fact is that, like every single black electorate in America, this black electorate voted for who they thought was probably the black candidate. And Vic Rawl assumed he would win because the establishment was behind him, and thus didn’t do enough campaigning to overcome that fact.
Bump!
It’ll be interesting to see where this goes.

I know, sorry, but see post 31 for the correct recent reference.
More popcorn is right! These fools are just digging the hole they are in deeper and deeper!
"No matter what the Democrats do now...they basically destroy the party "trust" mechanism for the next two years. Everybody is going to register as a Democrat and vote for the number two or three guy....so the primary business is a total joke from this point on."I attended the Texas Libertarian delegate conference yesterday in Austin as a guest of a friend who's running for the state senate. It's interesting that they don't hold primaries for all the reasons we've seen with the tampering in the Pub/Rat primaries.
The state officers elect a proportionate number of district delegates to cast their informed vote for the best candidates in contested races (about 100+ delegates for 33 districts - very manageable size for the 2nd most populous state). The proper paperwork must be done first by the candidate, then in the convention, candidates with the proper filings must get nominated by a delegate and a delegate must also go on the record to vouch for them.
It had a lot of transparency and oversight. I don't see any way to tamper with the voting process. The only fraud that could occur would be for the nominees to try to buy votes from the elected delegates, and as soon as the first or 2nd offer was made, it would blow up in their face.
This guy(Greene)is broke, can you tell me how a person without a large org behind them could possibly affect elections, especially the absentee vote? The dimwits are simply pi**ed that their guy didn’t win.
Ping. Demrat dry run for November.
