Sheriff: Mexican Drug Cartels Control Parts of Arizona

A sheriff in an Arizona county has said with certainty that Mexican drug cartels control parts of his state and is begging the Obama administration for a massive deployment of National Guard troops to the Arizona-Mexico border.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu made the statement to KGUN9-TV:

The sheriff admits the cartels are operating in his county and without the federal government's help they can't get control. KGUN 9 News asked Babeu flat out if cartels control parts of Arizona.

"Absolutely, they have in terms of the remote areas in the drug corridors in the desert here in west Pinal County. Our government has even erected signs warning citizens to beware this is a known drug corridor," Babeu said.

When the 911 call came in deputies immediately started a search but found the two bodies shot to death after four hours of looking. In lieu of this violence Babeu is asking president Barack Obama to send 3000 national guard troops to the border to help stop it.

This evening on Hannity, surveillance video made by fed up citizens was shown of drug cartels armed with automatic weapons using humans as pack mules to carry large amounts of (presumably) drugs (and not WMDs) through regularly used smuggling routes through the Arizona desert.

Obama recently announced he was sending 1200 National Guard troops to the Southwest border to do behind the scenes busy work to free up Border Patrol agents.

With the Pinal County Sheriff begging for 3000 just for his state, it is obvious the Obama administration is not in touch with law enforcement in the border states.

Pinal County is not a border county, it is one county north of the border according to a map at Wikipedia.

And he doesn't even mention all the intrusions by the Mexican military on American soil. No wonder President Calderon acted like he owned the place when he was in D.C. last month.

Leadership.

We have no American leadership, no patriotic leadership, no insightful leadership.

Basically, we have zero Leadership.

This is why so many liberals are boycotting Arizona. SB 1070 is going to make their drugs more expensive and a heck of a lot harder to get. George Soros is their only hope now.

Let’s face it, if areas of one State are under the control of the Cartel(s), then it’s safe to say other States also have similar problems. It’s out of control in other words, and the Marxist government in power today isn’t going to do a damned thing about it.

So what’s the next move? Whatever it is it’s too late for discussion. Time for action.

I used to live in Pinal County and traveled I-8 everyday to the bombing ranges. I almost bought a tract of land very near the area under siege now. I’m glad that never came to pass.

This is ridiculous. We need more troops and Border Patrol officers down there, and they need to be armed. Heck, deputize trustworthy citizens and ranchers that live along the border as well - whoever wants to. Go old school on them. :)

Seriously, though... Enough is enough, They need to be pushed back over the border, and kept there. It’s pure insanity at this point.

If they are drug cartels then what is the DEA doing?

Between the Gulf states and the Southwest border states, perhaps one of them will realize that the Obama administration has broken the federal compact by its dereliction of duty and that state will act to protect itself, the other states and the Union by doing that which Obama refuses to do: protect the states.

it is obvious the Obama administration is not in touch with law enforcement in the border states.

It is obvious the Obama administration is not in touch with reality, he and his thugs need to go.
