Bob Cashell is a has-been, anyway, and a dubious squish. He was elected as a Democrat Lt Governor with Richard Bryan in 1982 and switched parties during his one term. Made his comeback to Reno Mayor back in ‘02 and he’s running for a third term in November (but apparently only has desultory opposition so far).

You forgot about his casino ownership and some of the really juicy stories. Bob is a Texas transplant and a slobbering slob. I know two guy who used to be his body guards. They can dish some dirt on the fat man.

Were mayoral primaries held last Tuesday as well? If so, could someone still file as an independent? I believe that Washoe County State Senator Maurice Washington’s seat is up this year and that he is term-limited, so I assume that he will be returning to the private sector fulltime unless we can convince him to run for mayor of Reno.
