(AP) RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Republican mayor of Reno says the U.S. Senate candidate chosen this week by the Nevada GOP to take on Democrat Harry Reid is an "ultra right-winger" whom he cannot support.
Mayor Bob Cashell says former state Assemblywoman Sharron Angle is "just too far to the right for me."

I suppose the media will make this huge news. Meanwhile if any Dems endorse Angle, they will be ignored.
Sounds like this mayor was no real Republican to begin with. If he does not like Angle, so be it. She was the choice of rank and file GOP voters and the margin was not even close, if I am not mistaken.
All I can think of is Reno 911. One of the characters must be modeled after him.
RINOs routinely expect conservatives to back their “moderate” candidates, but cut and betray us when the candidate is a conservative.
It'll be interesting to see what falls out of Nevada politics in the next few months.
Rest assured, it will be supported by organized crime and labor unions, even if they don't wear the "label."

Bob Cashell and his Council have destroyed Reno. They squandered redevelopment funds to support the City’s general fund—all for the purpose of buying votes and getting re-elected. Typical career politicos. Now that redevelopment funds are depleted and the City is on the verge of financial collapse, he wants the DemonRats to bail them out. RENO IS TOO BIG TO FAIL, DONCHA KNOW!

The polls seem to show a slight Angle lead at this point, in fact, IIRC she’s bumped back up the last couple polls I have seen.
Isn’t there someone who can oppose this guy for reelection?

Angle seems to be erasing Harry’s brief shot at a win...the newer polls generally are trending in her favor.

Sue Lowden is a freakin’ moron...I’m so glad she lost. I wouldn’t vote her in for anything, including but not limited to Dog Catcher. I was a delegate a couple of years ago and saw first hand how she tried to handle the “little people” (i.e. conservative voters). She’s a fraud and an arrogant one at that. I know Sharron personally - she’s fantastic, and any little crap her opponents (with either an R or a D after thier name) try to throw at her will pale in significance to the all the crap Dingy Harry will be called to the carpet for.
There are a lot of nay-sayers out there that are either in sour-grapes mode because thier candidate lost or are trying to paint Sharron as an “extreme right-wing-freak”. She’s just a conservative who had the gall to raise her family well, then go into politics to try to save the Republic. She’s going to be attacked ruthlessly. We all know that. But many folk’s eyes have been opened, and because of that, she’s going to win.
I want you all to think about being her position right now - an unapologetic constitutional conservative (David) going up against one of the most powerful, dangerous men in the country (Goliath)...remember that story? Because of her passion, integrity and courage to face this monster, she will prevail. The only question is, will we have the nads to stand with her, or will we allow our little tails to curl up and run quivering to a corner?
I already know what side I’m on, how ‘bout you?
The sickening thing is not only is Cashell supporting Reid he is vomiting dim talking points.
They will soften the heck out of her in the next few months. People will hold their noses and vote for Reid, he might even win with about 45%. Nevada has a NONE OF THE ABOVE option.
I hope she can win folks, but I have very serious doubts.
