He was definitely better than Graham on some issues (biggie immigration) but I don’t know if a paleo-conservative who left the GOP and joined that rat party cause he’s THAT anti-war would be better overall. If he’d caucus with the rats (I don’t know if he would have) then my answer would be no.

If it was Mark Kirk versus Conley. Or Mike Castle. Or Susan Collins. Then I’d have backed Conley.

But Conley versus a squishy but still mostly conservative voting Republican like Graham or Bob Bennett, no, I didn’t trust him enough.

Plus the situation it would set up in 6 years. As it stands now we’ll probably get rid Graham in the next primary. I just know some idiot conservatives would’ve backed an incumbent Conley against a conservative non-Graham Republican in 2014.

This guy won the Democratic race for DeMint's Senate seat. Then the RATS asked him to step down. Then he refused. Don't stop the hole digging :-)

"On Wednesday, the state's Democratic leaders called on him to drop out of the race"

- The Washington Post

I call on the DOJ to investigate the South Carolina Democratic Party, and James Clyburn, for attempting to disenfranchise the nearly 100,000 Democratic voters who legitimately voted for Alvin Greene. Apparently Jim Crowe is alive and well in the United States of America.

Why isn’t he a Czar by now?

Those positions are reserved for old friends from Obama's hood.

Not unless the recent effort to close our primaries is successful. Democrats vote for him in droves.

Congressman Jim Clyburn is now blaming the primary victory of Alvin Green on — wait for it — the Tea Parties! Yes, We EVIL Tea Party operatives subverted the election process and MADE Democrats vote by the tens of thousands for the WRONG candidate, to vote STUPIDLY! It was ALL a VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY! IT WAS ALL “THE TEA PARTIES!”

Amen, Brother. Any news on that front? I haven't heard anything about that issue in quite a while.

It’s basically become the state’s black primary while our primary has basically become the state’s white primary.

Neither party will dare come out and admit that but it’s obvious looking at voter returns and which counties vote in which primaries.

Greene will get a bunch of votes, mainly from urban blacks.

This is SC, not much urban here lol

He got plenty of votes in the Dem primary. He apparently didn't just beat the other guy, he beat him by a mile.

In 2008 he faced a relative nobody who had no funding and won 2-1.

Given his current path he’ll probably face a higher profile challenger next time. I don’t think rat crossover will save him.
