As rumored, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose endorsement gave former Hewlett-Packard chief Carly Fiorina a boost in the Republican campaign for the U.S. Senate nomination, gave her some more help Monday: a recorded call that went out to 650,000 likely Republican voters in California, according to Fiorina spokeswoman Julie Soderlund.
Here is what Palin had to say:
Hi. This is Sarah Palin calling for the Carly for California campaign. Im calling to ask you to vote for Carly Fiorina, the commonsense conservative running for United States Senate. You know thankfully Carly is not a career politician. Shes a businesswoman who knows from personal experience that when government grows, the private sector shrinks. Carly is the conservative who has the best chance to beat liberal Sen. Barbara Boxer. And shes running against a liberal Republican who really isnt much different than Boxer. Come on, help get our country back on track by electing Carly Fiorina to the United States Senate. Please be sure to vote on Tuesday. And thank you so much for your time.

Huh? Carly hasn’t beat Boxer in a single poll.
She has a big fat “L” on her forehead, LOSER.
I predict it will be worse than these polls show.

Hey, you’re back!
Where have you been?
Offline. There is a whole world out there! ;-)
I missed a lot of the good folks here, as well.
Other than that, I see things haven’t changed much.
“A vote for McClintock is a vote for Bustamante”
The polls say it is so!!!
The polls you cite are all almost a month old.
They aren’t polling for the general election on a weekly basis — we don’t vote for another five months!
You said the polls said I was wrong.
What polls were you referring to? Got a link?
My mistake if I directed my comments to you by mistake or without going back and reading all the posts. If you are voting for Chuck, you are indeed a kindered spirit. Thanks for the clarification.
I hear ya.
And if prop 14 passes, I expect we will see more m/billionaires buying the election.
Their arrogance is astounding.
Smart women except for the getting caught part.
Agreed, she is a smart woman. But as a businesswoman, she was anything but smart. Perhaps more accurately, she was wrong.
Some demand 101% purity which absolutely no one ever gives for longer than a while.
I am very content to let Sarah be Sarah and see what happens.
It does seem far fetched to think Devore is getting less than 20% of the GOP primary vote and could beat Boxer in CA?
But, some here will thump their chests and praise their own purity and raise their blood pressure.
I’ll just be content.
Dialing For Dollars has turned into Ringing For RINOS.
McClintock barely won in one of the most reliably conservative districts in CA.
With Hunter’s endorsement DeVore will be running so far out ahead of the pack the other candidates will more than likely quit rather than face embarrassing loses at the polls.
RealClearPolitics polls/graph here (note the spike after her Fiorina endorsement on 5/6)I already voted for Chuck Devore via absentee ballot, but I continue to be disappointed that he cannot break 15% of the GOP vote here in California.
At some point, you just have to say, that despite his solid conservative credentials -- he simply does not have what it takes to win a state-wide election.
We deserve someone who has those skills AND is a conservative. Is that too much to ask for?
