Palin robocalls aimed at boosting Fiorina (BARF)
LA Times ^ | 6/7/10 | Robin Abcarion

As rumored, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose endorsement gave former Hewlett-Packard chief Carly Fiorina a boost in the Republican campaign for the U.S. Senate nomination, gave her some more help Monday: a recorded call that went out to 650,000 likely Republican voters in California, according to Fiorina spokeswoman Julie Soderlund.

Here is what Palin had to say:

“Hi. This is Sarah Palin calling for the Carly for California campaign. I’m calling to ask you to vote for Carly Fiorina, the commonsense conservative running for United States Senate. You know thankfully Carly is not a career politician. She’s a businesswoman who knows from personal experience that when government grows, the private sector shrinks. Carly is the conservative who has the best chance to beat liberal Sen. Barbara Boxer. And she’s running against a liberal Republican who really isn’t much different than Boxer. Come on, help get our country back on track by electing Carly Fiorina to the United States Senate. Please be sure to vote on Tuesday. And thank you so much for your time.”

Yes, the party that argued against McClintock “because he can’t win” is at it again.

And Carly’s creeping sheep ads have been awesome. DeVore would have left her in the dirt if Precious and her ringwraiths had stayed out of it. Oh well.

You obviously aren't aware of Fiorina's "not-so-strong" points. Boxer will eat her alive.
Fiorina is literally HATED by tons of Californians. Oh -- you're from NY.

Best way to ensure Boxer winning was to put up a flip flopping RINO.

You realize that this method of voting relies on silly polls of 500-1000 people, carved up and massaged to create their desired effect -- and yet freepers will use these polls as a basis for choosing a candidate. And some then have the nerve to whine about RINOs.

It's absolute insanity.

It’s not the polls. If Precious had come out for DeVore, they’d be calling him a great conservative. Instead, we are getting what you see.

Can’t say I would ever support Palin after receiving one of these.

She’s a “business woman” that got fired from HP after trashing it. She also got caught hiring a PI and illegally taping private phone calls of the other HP board members at their homes. Palin blew it big time on this one.

If Carly wins the nod, I'll go to bat for her then.

Let's cross that bridge when/if we get to it, okay?

Go DeVore!!!!

Sarah seems to be doing just fine without the help of all you experts.

Nobody will argue with you that Palin is doing fine. It is the country I am worried about. She sold out. Of course she is doing fine. That's what happens when you join the club.

Pissant, as much as we might want Chuck Devore to win, he really never had a chance, with or without Sarah's help.

Go ahead, keep losing. Have you checked the score card. That game you are playing is a sure loser.

Fiorina laid the foundation and her successor Mark Hurd continued policies that allowed HPQ to attain supremacy in both the PC and IT services markets.

Recall the big news when HPQ finally bought out EDS? That was many years after Fiorina pursued the purchase in 2000. It allowed HPQ to attain eclipse IBM in the lucrative IT services sector.

Personal insults aside, all the polls say you are wrong.

“She also got caught hiring a PI and illegally taping private phone calls of the other HP board members at their homes.”

It wasn’t Fiorina that spied on Board Members. It was the next leader, Dunn.

“New board chair, Patricia Dunn, started a second round of investigations of board leaks in 2006, driven in part by distrust and conflict between directors. Private investigators secretly spied on board members and gathered extensive background information on reporters and their spouses. They also obtained phone records of board members, employees, and journalists under false pretenses (a process referred to as “pre-texting”) and tried to install spyware on reporters’ computers (Nakashima & Noguchi, 2006). Former Reagan science advisor George Keyworth eventually admitted to being the source of the leaks and left the board. Earlier, the board had asked Keyworth to be a liaison to the media, sharing information about company developments. Fellow board members accused Keyworth of going beyond his mandate by leaking details about private board discussions to a CNET reporter. For his part, Keyworth denied sharing any confidential or damaging information (Richtel, 2006; Waldman & Lublin, 2006).”

“I loved Palin from the beginning, but not anymore. She’s breaking the one thing that made her special - principles.”

Check out ... endorsement of Iowa Gov Branstad.

A moderate Republican who was shocked she endorsed him.

I’m sorry, but this is about 2012 for her.

This stuff is too calculated and not principled enough. She is turning into a better-looking version of Romney.

Exactly.
You know, its not hard to get a REPUBLICAN to win in 2012. (Although I am not sure palin is electable). It is harder to get a principled conservative to win.

I thought it was Fiorina.

Apparently I'm wrong.

I apologize for posting incorrect information about her.

We are doomed. The pendulum will continue to swing to the left. Nobody will stand on principles anymore, only on who can win for the party. We lose.

She was a failure. Keep touting revisionist history, but it doesn’t play well with those that were there watching at the time. Boxer will eat her alive. Just wait and see (if we are so unfortunate to have her as the GOP nominee).
