As we predicted the Helen Thomas story has blown up over the weekend. Thomas did not show up for the White House briefing this morning, and word has it the WHCA is discussing the matter. It is a sad turn of affairs for a reporter who had, until now, such a long, illustrious, and pioneering career (our own Tommy Christopher notes seats at #whbrief are assigned, but if someone doesnt show, theyre fair game. Except Helens seat). And it may get worse.
Rabbi David Nesenoff, whose interview with Thomas at the White House Jewish Heritage Day resulted in her now infamous remarks about Jews getting the hell out of Palestine and going home to Germany, or Poland, appeared on Fox & Friends this morning. Nesenoff noted that he was just as surprised as anyone else at Thomas comments and that he had intended the interview to be light: I was dumbfounded and hurt by it.
Nesenoff also revealed that there was more to the video and that part two is coming out in the next day or so.

I believe I just heard Jayne Skinner on Fox reading an apology from H.Thomas to include her immediate retirement.
Anyone else hear it??????????
OH Good - you heard it too!!!!!!!!!!
I love that two people who shoved their own political views into attempting to persuade public policy for their entire career has to retire in shame instead of the glory and acclaim they assumed would be waiting for them.
Helen Thomas and Dan Rather- makes me believe in karma.
Great news!
Controversy is nothing new to Helen - she almost got fired once before after she called Thomas Jefferson’s mistress a tramp.
Helen, the Nazi armband you use as a garter is showing...
Just made that up, and it may not apply in all cases, but I've encountered a lot of older people whose hearts were never too pretty; and they haven't seemed to "age well". But I also know many whose hearts were very beautiful; and age just made them sweeter--and softer!
Exactly. If Helen is relieved of her WH press pass, it will only be to prevent any further unmasking of those fellow travelers.
Thanks for reminding me of that!:)
The Face that launched a thousand *barf alerts* ...will not be missed. byee Helen!
She is retiring in a flash of bigotry. Let’s see if the accolades from the liberal media are toned down. Illustrious career indeed!
Helen, go drool on your bib in the Home waiting for you. and take Jimmuh with you.
This good news means....
NO MORE PICTURES OF HELEN THOMAS ON FREE REPUBLIC !!
please..(begging)
She's a bile-filled hag who was only kept on 25 years past retirement age to irritate the GW Bush administration. In fact, if Bush or another Republican was still President, she wouldn't be forced to resign over this. It'd be chalked up to "remarks taken out of context" and glossed over. so she could continue to carry out her mission. But since she's embarrassing a likeminded Democrat, she's gotta go.
My father is deceased but he was prejudice, and he often would always make derogatory remarks agaisnt Black People...
( We would Always say Dad why don’t you be quiet and go watch TV! and he did! LOL)
He just had a big mouth like that in front of the family..
He never spoke like that in public, and I have seen many old people raised in a time when bigotry of all kinds ran rampant..... I voluntered in a nursing home one time and heard all kinds of racial slurs and whacked out comments from the elderly.....I just think their comes a time when Seniors should be Seniors by having the *Family* care for them...
Helen Thomas being 90- should be out of the Political limelight, he family should take care of her and then she can yak yak yak all she wants in her backyard....
I guess I have just seen many people her age say crazy things....My mom is 78, she is getting a bit CRANKY lately!
YIKES!
Major Garret should get that seat now. He’s a real pro and...likeable.
Well, maybe she was right. After all, we weren’t there. She was.
